FOAD retread.
tonka_truck,
I believe you need to do a bit more research before you castigate the service of any indiviual, whether man or boy.
“that all three black confederates buried in St. Augustine were musicians who played the drums or blew a bugle.”
You obviously have no clue as to the purpose, nor the importance, of the drums and bugles within the regiments. Their job was even more important than those who carried the colors.
“They weren’t soldiers in any meaningful way unless you choose to twist the objective truth to fit the circumstance “
They were indeed soldiers with a very important job. Why would you denigrate their service by stating they weren’t meaningful soldiers? Just what objective truth is being twisted here?
Do you posses the ability to read another’s mind or heart, past or present? Do you know of the soldiers pride and sacrifice? Do you know how they felt wearing their uniform and doing their duty? Why is being a bugler or a drummer not enough for you? Is it because they didn’t carry a gun that you denigrate their service and sacrifice? Those were very important positions in BOTH militaries!
