When the confederate government finally got around to authorizing black combat troops why did the legislation mandate that they be organized into segregated units?
Plus, the Union made sure to destroy all the Confederate records they could get their hands on.
You people truly are shameless. You can go to the Congressional Globe archives and find every word of every debate of every session of the confederate congress. You can go to the OR and find an entire series - 4 volumes - of nothing but documents from the confederate army. And there are thousands of confederate documents in the other 60-odd volumes as well. And yet you claim that the Union destroyed all the confederate records they could get their hands on. You can't even lie well.

When Richmond burned most of the records were gone with the fire. Shame too. During the Congressional Post War hearings the Confederate ordnance chief Colonel Josiah Gorgas had too testify from memory on the number of cannons made .etc. do to a lack of documentation. He even came up with the ammounts of ammo produced from memory.

Here’s you a video in which a grandson of a Confederate soldier share’s his thoughts. He speaks in several segments, and in one segment he displays a photo of his grandfather’s unit’s reunion. He is proud of his grandfather’s service. Perhaps he is one you wish to contact so you can denigrate his ancestor’s service?
