LOL I brought up the theory in 2008 as well when I was recuperating from surgery on my right arm and couldn’t make my teddy bears from recylced fur coats. I spent my time researching Jr’s “story” and have read through the long thread twice. Once I finish some ongoing jobs I will begin reading the long thread again for the third time as I am in Canada at the moment but alas on the wrong side of the province to roam the basement of Vancouver General Hospital. I will post links which are no longer valid on the long thread but I have read so much that the majority of it is in my head, I have very good memory retention although I must confess that the name of one of SAD’s friends from high school escapes me and her name is written in a notepad which is at my home in ID. She had been living in UT and had a little girl a week younger than Jr but she relayed the story of visiting with SAD just before the World’s Fair ended in 1962. Through my research I found that the Fair ended in November of 1962 so SAD was still in Seattle at that time, meaning she had to have moved back to HI after November of 1962. The other thing pointing to a home for unwed mothers was not knowing how to change a diaper. Homes for unwed mothers frowned on contact between mothers and babies since in those days the majority of babies were placed for adoption which would explain the reasoning behind not knowing how to change a diaper. It would also have been extremely easy to cross the border between B.C. and WA as the border guards simply looked at the driver’s license barely paying any attention to any passengers, a fact which has been verified by many Freepers, myself included.

You are in BC Canada as I read it. You have pursued as much as you are able various leads. I would submit to everyone, that this business of the birth of the now President, deserves the dedication of the "enthusiastic amateur". The indignation of those who are faced with a denial, of what they consider the quietus to the Obama camp is understandable.
I do myself, feel there is something ominous in the incredible reluctance of the MSM to even discuss the issue. Further more, the vituperation and ridicule of the "birthers" takes on an Alinsky like juggernaut. Again, this is ominous. Even if a person declares they are neutral and simply would like the proof, they can be jumped on.
My own first guess, is that somehow the birth of Barack Obama may not have taken place in a hospital. It does indeed happen, as stories about deliveries in a taxi-cap attest. I understand it would have been incumbent on the mother or attending persons to inform the proper authority. This so they could fill in the long form.
This would pose a problem if Stanley Ann did not register her son's birth at the time. I agree this is only a guess. I would also lend credibility to the Canadian scenario of birth. Not impossible.
I sincerely hope that somehow the matter will be resolved to the satisfaction of all American citizens. If President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, and the long form does not exist. It should then be sworn so. Affidavits under the full compulsion of the law. This if there was some glitch and the long form was never completed.
Please excuse this long screed. It will possibly be the dogged foot work of the researcher that will win the day.
