You all know I have been a birther from back in the summer of 2008, but even I have questioned a Kenyan birth. I personally have thought she went to Canada to have him since they had “free healthcare” that the Dunham’s would have been aware of living in Seattle. Also, it would explain her visiting a friend in Seattle when Obama just a few weeks old. It just seemed to make sense and the idea of a pregnant woman traveling to a remote African country in 1961 seemed absurd. However...

This is something that would absurd for us, normal people. This is a woman who a few years later moved to a third world hell hole known as Indonesia. She romanticised that life! She was Bohemian by nature and would have found the idea of living in Africa thrilling! Maybe after getting there and realizing that while she was ‘color blind’, the black Africans were not. Her father in law didn’t approve, she found out he already had a tribal wife recognized in his village and by his family. But she is stuck in Kenya, pregnant. I’d imagine if this is true, it would have been a terrifying ordeal for her.

Now one thing I haven’t heard anyone mention recently is if there is a record of Barack SENIOR making a trip home to Kenya in any part of 1961. If he did, this would hold up better because it would make sense that she would join him. If he didn’t, it wouldn’t make sense that she traveled there alone.

Just curious, do any of you guys know if Sr. traveled to Kenya in 1961?

I just read through the obamafile.com family history page. All the references to BO Sr. have him living in Hawaii and attending school there and applying to Harvard. The page says he was there until June 22, 1962 when he left to go to graduate school at Harvard (at which time Ann Dunham and baby Obama were living in Seattle). The page also says that no one knows for sure where all the players were during this time and there are a number of conflicting reports that have surfaced regarding their locations. There are confusing statements from some of the family in Kenya, for example.

From all the research I have done I have never seen any mention of Obama Sr ever leaving HI once he arrived there in June of 1959 until he left on June 22,1962 on his three month tour of the U.S. prior to arriving at Harvard on a “cool, crisp early autumn morning” (quote courtesy of Time magazine 1962 Nov. edition) SAD mentioned to her friends on Mercer Island that Sr was NOT present at the birth. I also discovered that Seattle at that time was extremely racist with the colored people restricted to living in one area of the city and the maternity ward and nursey were both segregated while the same could not be said for hospitals in Vancouver, B.C. When SAD’s friend Susan Blake mentioned that Ann didn’t know how to change diapers(if you will remember it has often been stated by both Susan Blake and Maxine Box that Ann never even babysat while in high school, she knew nothing of babies or children aside from what she observed when she went to Maxine’s home after school) that is when I formed the theory which I have always stated is a theory that she was at a home for unwed mothers in Vancouver which is a mere 70 miles north of Seattle. Even Mercer Island at the time was 100% white.
Obama Sr did NOT live in government housing until his return to Kenya after receiving his Master’s degree from Harvard in May of 1964, when he was promptly hired to work for the government but his dissatisfaction which he loudly expressed caused him to be demoted time and time again. When SAD was on Mercer Island with a “very new and very pink” (video with Susan Blake) Jr she was staying with a friend of her mother and I believe (theory again) she was sent back to Seattle once it was revealed that she was pregnant so she wouldn’t bring embarassment to the new mortgage broker and furniture salesman as they began their new jobs.
