Question for Palinistas. What will you say when...

Posted on 01/08/2010 2:07:44 PM PST by Bob J

...Palin endorses John McCain?

Top ten...

1) She's just "playing the game". Standing on principle and voting the RINO's out is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with Sarah becoming prez.

2) If Sarah says supporting RINO's is okay, that's good enough for me. The Messiah is infallible and what do I know?.

3) She's not being inconsistent, she's making a tactical retreat, but hey that's politics.

4) A smart move by the smartest woman in the world.

5) She didn't want to but the dims threatened to file an ethics complaint if she didn't.

6) She's not quiting, she's reloading.

7) What endorsement? That wasn't an endorsement she was repaying a political favor. Everyone does it.

8) That was part of her master plan to make dims and the MSM fear her even more...if that's even possible.

9) C'mon, McCain wasn't THAT bad...

10) Who cares? Look at those LEGS!

She respects the man too much. Read her book.

She states clearly that she has a deep respect and affection for the man.

This is also my concern.

Governor Palin seems at times to display that all too-human tendancy -- shared by President Bush -- of allowing LOYALTY to cloud her judgment, particularly towards people who might not DESERVE it.

Oh, well. There are far WORSE character defects that she could have. ;o)

Yes, I think it is reasonable to say that we hold Gov. Palin responsible for her statements and actions the same as any other politician.

That said, do you really see anyone at the moment with more promise?

I've been asking Bob who or what he supports.

He won't answer.

I don't know why.

‘Palinista’ is a derisive term. What if we labeled you an ignorant, insecure, old curmudgeon who appears to have a ‘problem’ with attractive, intelligent, persevering women?

What will you say when Sarah says,

“Hey BobJ, want some Mosse stew?” *wink*

Palin should declare where she stands on McCain before the primary vote or she's just another chicken-shiite politician waiting to see where the winds blow before she sticks her finger in the air and takes the politically expedient position.

If she comes out against McCain I will applaud her for sticking to the Tea Party principle of replacing RINO’s.

If she comes out for him I will applaud her standing by the man who catapulted her into the national limelight.

If she takes no stand I will despise her for being another weak-ass politician saying one thing then playing the “political game” on the backside because she thinks no one is looking.

“Bob is out of line, and has been told to cool it.”

It was actually "Give it a rest" that JR told Bob J, during one of his Palin bashing spasms.

Good lessons.

I’ve traveled a fair amount politically over the decades, having started out as something of a well-intended, knee-jerk lefty in my indoctrinated youth. For a while I wanted to rest under the libertarian name, but my dismay with the lack of global realism among the capital L’ers led me to move on.

I’m now a eensy-weensy, tiny-government Republican. Part of what I like about Palin has been her willingness to take on the corrupt Republican Establishment—cause that’s something we sure need now. I’d like to see a small-government, constitutionalist, Tea Party, libertarian caucus become active and powerful within the Republican Party, state by state and nationwide.

We need new foot-soldiers within the Republican Party and I fervently hope Palin can lead the Tea Party in that direction.

probably the same thing we said when Reagan invited GHWB to be his running mate, then endorsed him 8 years later. There was no love lost between them during the primaries and their ideologies were on opposite ends of the GOP spectrum, but it worked.

Both men were civil individuals who understood that differences within the party are as nothing compared to the differences between parties. Both understood the necessity at times for compromise, a lesson yet to be learned by their would-be philosophical heirs.

“I’ve been asking Bob who or what he supports. He won’t answer.”

I’ve answered many times on other threads and I’m tired of the question, the premise of which is “Why are you as blinded with the glitz and glamour of Palin’s book tour and intoxicated with her incessant Twittering as I am?”.

Your a shallow idiot, I endeavor not to be.

“‘Palinista’ is a derisive term.”

Why is that?

We could offer a softer tone with Paulinian and Palinian—but then it’d be a little tough to tell them apart.

Palinite and Paulite are probably a bit more neutral—and distinguishable.

< sigh >

Poor little Bob ... so put upon. Can't stand questions about who he supports, but makes derisive remarks about other folks political affiliations.

So sad ...

I'm almost weeping for Poor Oppressed Bob J.

NOT!

Whassamatta, Bob? Are you ashamed of who or what you are supporting?

Why such hostility towards Sarah Palin? Has she said something that affronts your conservative principals — versus any other pol purporting to be a “conservative”? It’s one thing to say you don’t think she should be president — I think good conservatives can have differing opinions on that — but “Palinistas”? Do you work for CNN? Seriously.

At this point I would point out that at 114 posts save one there has not been a legitimate answer to my original question which itself was legitimate and pertinent.

The reason for this is obvious to me, most Palin supporters hide their heads in the sand preferring to believe in marshmallow castles and strawberry moats (and messiahs) as opposed to hard realities of modern politics.

They’re easier to pronounce, too. :-)

The “-ista” bugs me due to the fact that it reminds me of Latin American communism.
