Doug Hoffman pledged to help Dede Scozzafava in an e-mail sent two days after the Republican Party passed over the Lake Placid accountant for the nomination.
The e-mail, sent from Mr. Hoffman's business account on July 24 and provided by the Scozzafava campaign, states in full: "Hi Dede, Congratulations and the best of luck in your candidacy. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Doug."
This is contrary to what Mr. Hoffman, who is now running against Ms. Scozzafava as a Conservative candidate, told me less than two weeks later.

Answer my question.
How does electing Scozzafava advance the cause of conservatism?
So it’s a “he said she said moment?”
Whatever those might be. We only have his "word" on them.
I’m really surprised at Newt. I can only figure he’s totally obsessed with getting back the majority.
How does electing Owens advance the cause of conservatism?
How does electing an unprincipled liar advance the cause of conservatism?
And a room with about 300 witnesses in it.
“Nothing like trashing the whole party because some are out of step, but then, thats what you do.”
The GOP is useful only as a vehicle for the advancment of conservatism. When they are no longer a useful vehicle for conservism, they must be fixed or traded in. Ask yourself, does ANYONE brag about their “Republican” ideals? No, people brag about their Conservative ideals.
“And a room with about 300 witnesses in it.”
But you only quoted one of them.
FYI: Amazon's having a sale on pimple cream!
I think it was a test, We will see more of these as the elections begin.
We should make a great effort of requesting information on those who post these threads.
1. What position they take conservative or not.
2. Keep them on subject with facts and links.
3. Call them on their emotional Junk.
I am DONE with hearing we need to support the Republican Party when the Republican party is being STUPID and liberal.
“He did say it” that is not a written pldege. Until the written pledge is posted somewhere it is not proven true. That would be like someone making disparaging remark about you, just because it is said does not make it true. You need to remember that when you make accusations.
Newt can't take it back because he's beholden to the party. He himself said so. He's placed party above country and principle.
He's campaigned for Hillary on health care, works with Sharpton on education, and collaborates with Pelosi on renewable energy. Frankly, I'm not surprised.
Newt is only looking out for numero uno. I don't begrudge a guy out there selling books and videos. What bothers me most is he goes around telling everyone he's advancing Conservatism. When he's not collaborating with the left, he's endorsing it.
I hope that endorsement haunts him for the rest of his life.
As to your questions, I believe that if Owens wins he will be much easier to unseat than Scozzafava in 2010. If he is replaced with a conservative, that advances the cause of conservatism.
As to your second question, I reject as farce your lame attempts to declare Hoffman an “unprincipled liar”. Your assertions are weak, your evidence of the “lie” is unconvincing, and your manner weaselly and manipulative. I believe electing a conservative will advance the cause of conservatism.
And not one of them was this reporter.
Take your GOP leaders straight to hell with yourself!!!!
I totally agree. I’ll just add that the media has been so successful at sliming the Republican “brand” (sorry, I hate that term), people have become cowards about their party membership and some even pretend to be “Independents”. Is a cowardice Reagan would never have indulged in, but that’s fine as long as, like you say, they use the GOP as a vehicle to advance conservatism.
“As Election Day draws closer, it’s becoming increasingly clear that Doug Hoffman could very well spoil a perfectly safe Republican seat held by our party since the mid-1800s,” said Ms. Dancks. “Doug Hoffman took an oath to Republican voters to support the Republican nominee in our district, but his pledge has gone unfulfilled.” —Madison County GOP Chairwoman Therese Wiley Dancks and Madison County Board of Supervisors Chairman John Becker.
Like you give a damn what he says. You've trashed him all morning since I got here.
Here's another flip for you all.
The Conservative Party of NY was for Scozzafatty before they were against her.
I'm still for Hoffman BTW, but it is worth noting that there is some hypocrisy here on the part of both Hoffman and Long's Conservative Party of NY and in the interest of telling the truth, it should be pointed out.
I don't.
