Hoffman was for Scozzafava before he was against her
Watertown Daily Times ^ | MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 2009 | JUDE SEYMOUR

Doug Hoffman pledged to help Dede Scozzafava in an e-mail sent two days after the Republican Party passed over the Lake Placid accountant for the nomination.

The e-mail, sent from Mr. Hoffman's business account on July 24 and provided by the Scozzafava campaign, states in full: "Hi Dede, Congratulations and the best of luck in your candidacy. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Doug."

This is contrary to what Mr. Hoffman, who is now running against Ms. Scozzafava as a Conservative candidate, told me less than two weeks later.

You sure like RINO’s don’t ya? Something tells me you voted for Obama.

A baseless ridiculous charge that makes you and the rest of the Hoffman supporters look bad.

For a pledge to be a lie, one has only to break it.

WHAT PLEDGE?

I would rather Owens win than Scozzafava.

No surprise there.

For a pledge to be a lie...

Why won't you post the pledge?

You've packed a lot of freight onto this pledge, some of us would like to see the language, so we know if we're dealing with a cabover Peterbilt or a '59 Datsun.

“Despite having signed a pledge to support the eventual nominee to emerge from the process, Hoffman considered the possibility of asking for the Conservative Party’s endorsement to run against Scozzafavva, making it a three way race.”

the fact that Scuzz-ball is an Obozo-lovin’ left-winged liberal clown.

You can't back that up, because it is false. Find where Scuzz is Obozo-lovin. You can't find it.

Nonetheless they endorsed her. “Twice”, as you say. Notwithstanding the fact that she has shared values of Obama, who is not ashamed to admit he’s a Socialist and fancies himself a supporter of abortion. So DeDe is either Bernie Sanders in drag or the future of the Republican party.

These attacks are unbelievable!

The RNC is now at war with all conservatives!

“You establish yourself as A NON TEAM PLAYER AND SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY BY THE RULES.”

When playing by the rules gets you Scuzzlebutt as a candidate, you need new rules.

Find where Scuzz is Obozo-lovin.

They share so many morally noisome positions, of course they love each other.

GOP leaders were outraged, especially since Mr. Hoffman, like other congressional hopefuls, had pledged to support the nominee. “He did say it repeatedly,” said Sandra Corey, the former GOP chairwoman of Jefferson County. “And then all of a sudden, it’s a no-go, like he hadn’t understood her background, which is a falsehood. I would never, ever trust him.”

It is normal for the loser to congratulate the winner and offer support.

Yes, and it is abnormal to run against the party nominee as a third party candidate.

The RNC is now at war with all conservatives!

Hoffman broke his pledge to the selection committee to support their choice for nominee. It was composed of County Chairs from the state of New York, not the RNC.

So, is this a written pledge or was it just small talk at a meeting. Because if was an ACTUAL PLEDGE it would only need to have been made ONCE.

Saying, "sure, I'm going to help" is chit-chat.
