Hoffman was for Scozzafava before he was against her

Doug Hoffman pledged to help Dede Scozzafava in an e-mail sent two days after the Republican Party passed over the Lake Placid accountant for the nomination.
The e-mail, sent from Mr. Hoffman's business account on July 24 and provided by the Scozzafava campaign, states in full: "Hi Dede, Congratulations and the best of luck in your candidacy. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Doug."
This is contrary to what Mr. Hoffman, who is now running against Ms. Scozzafava as a Conservative candidate, told me less than two weeks later.

I wish hoffman weren't such a dud. Kind of critical to be a compelling spokesman for one's self these days in politics. Dede's not a dud? She's a wolf in sheep's clothing and you are complaining about Hoffman? Sure, he's not as entertaining as Beck or as interesting as Sarah Palin but the guy has credentials, isn't a career politician and would be a signal to the GOP.
If the current status quo is good enough for you, then by all means follow the RNC's lead but I prefer to follow my principals and help Hoffman get elected and try to transform the party back to the conservatives where it was successful.

The letter was a gracious bit of meaningless doggeral. And his written pledge to the selection committee was a meaningless lie. Gotcha.

Not soon enough. He’s been an obvious troll for a very long time. Somebody’s asleep at the switch.

Are you, or are you not a conservative?
And don't lie. By acting like a little schoolgirl you are supporting the liberal candidate, whether that be DeDe or the Dem.

Hoffman isn’t a liar, you are. Even this reporter didn’t say Hoffman lied. The reporter said Hoffman had a change of heart and you interpret that as a lie on Hoffman’s part. You are clearly dense.

Are you, or are you not a conservative? I'm conservative enough to disapprove of lying politicians who go back on their word. How about you?

I haven't supported anyone in the race. You attack Hoffman but won't say that you support Scozzafava. You really are a coward.

Not soon enough. Hes been an obvious troll for a very long time. Somebodys asleep at the switch. Not necessarily a troll...self-righteous indignation can be intoxicating, and given that politics has begun to RELY on "gotchas" instead of principle, one has to be diligent not to get caught up in the show.
What is interesting is the apparent need to deny support for Dede and continue to bash Hoffman. It smacks of someone more obsessed with the lines on the map than the actual reaching of the finish line, imho.
