Our armed forces just have to keep us from losing in Afghanistan until President Palin can step in and clean up this anti-American socialist’s mess.

Providing that President Obama doesn't withdraw our troops from Afghanistan by 2012.

Because Bush knows how to be President and Obama doesn’t.

Why didn't President Bush pacify Afghanistan, too? He was in there longer than he was in Iraq?

I wouldn't say Iraq is exactly pacified, we just don't here about it often because Obama has declared we will concentrate on Afghanistan.

Violence is down a lot in Iraq, but the same thing likely won't pan out in Afghanistan because that country is made up of many tribes which constantly fight with each other and are unable to create a unified front which is required in the republic that we want Afghanistan to become.

Because that is not his goal. His goal is to use what he thought would be an easy victory in Afghanistan as a vehicle to rehabilitate the image of the Democratic Party on the War on Terror, or as he likes to call them, “Overseas Contingecy Operations.”

Why did everything in Afghanistan broke loose in the last six months? Because our enemies are greatly emboldened by Obama an indecisive coward and appeaser. They know a coward when they see one.

Expect an empty PR stunt by Obama very soon where he visits the troops in Afghanistan, acts so tough, announces some troops increase, but at the end he will not send enough troops to win the war there.

Afghanistan was in good shape until 2009. Who is the president?

I wouldn't say that. Afghanistan became a problem after 2005. But it didn't really start to spiral out of control until 2009.

Because 0bummer’s goal is the Defeat of America and the Destruction of Western Civilization.

Winning in Afghanistan would be counterproductive for 0bummer.

Define 'good shape'. Despite being on the run in 2002, during the next three years the Taliban regained control over much of the country. It wasn't until McChrystal arrived in June of this year that a commander has had the stones to accurately describe the situation in the country. And that situation was more than 6 months in the making.

The problem in Afghanistan isn't "tribes fighting other tribes".

Where did you come up with that?

It’s part of the problem. Taliban exacerbate it. The point I was making was that these tribes won’t cooperate to make Afghanistan as “successful” a republic as Iraq.

I spent three tours in AF working on the Pak border.

The problem is that money and brains left Iraq as they were getting their tails handed to them and started flowing to Pakistan and the tribal areas. The intel guys started taking down location and bios but were not allowed to do anything till just before the election. At that time they started hitting targets all over Pakistan and killing a lot of top guys. This caused an exodus from Pakistan into different areas of AF where we couldn't pick them out of the crowd. As most of us learned, you kill enough and they will stop. We just haven't killed enough yet. Start watching reports over there from other sources and you will learn that we aren't capturing nearly as many alive as we once did. (I wonder why). (sarc)

Because Iraq is not Afghanistan and vice versa.
The differences are self explanatory, as well as being self evident.

Providing that President Obama doesn't withdraw our troops from Afghanistan by 2012.

Troops can be sent back in, and socialized medicine can be repealed. The only thing that can't be quickly reversed is the insane debt Obama is piling up on our children, and even that can eventually be paid off.

[Note: Obama/Pelosi's portion of the debt can be reversed quickly by refusing to pay, something our country has never done before. For the first time in my life, I consider that an option to be considered; those who lend to our government know that the debt is being accumulated to fund unconstitutional socialist expansions of our government, and those who buy bonds and t-bills know or should know that we are borrowing far too heavily. If we default, it's a risk that they knowingly accepted.]

Completely false. Nice you have feelings, please stop confusing your feeling for facts. You habitual response of "it's Bush's fault" is even more fraudulent in this case then usual.

I know troops who are back in Afghanistan who cannot even go into areas they use to walk around in unarmed as little as 2 years ago.

The situation in Afghanistan has gotten significantly worse in the last 12 months. Part of that was the Bush team simply quit while still in office figuring it was 0's problem now, and part of that is the goofy ROE changes the 0 regime imposed.

We stopped protecting the locals from the Taliban and they have been ruthless in murdering anyone who opposes them. The locals no longer trust us to protect them. With out the locals, you cannot fight an Counter Insurgency
