There was a lot of communist activity before and during the 1960s in Washington state...

I wonder if Stanley Dunham the dad was fired from his job for being a member of the Communist Party and advised to leave town...

He was a Kansas boy...

A big change to suddenly want to leave the mainland and go to Hawaii...

Also the folk who would become the Black Panthers were busy in Washington state...
