That passage describes Frank Marshall Davis' early days in Chicago and referred to Davis. Do you suppose he was the photographer for the Naughty Ann pictures? Got her drunk, sexualized her, and then took the photos? Those photos were not taken with a Brownie. They have a professional air to them.
Furthermore, if he had taken those photos to the local drugstore to be developed, he probably would have been arrested. So, he most likely developed them in his own dark room, or he had a friend in the photography business who would develop the film on the sly.
The Davis paternity sounds feasible...

If Ann was a sneaky challenge to him...white, virgin, and 17 would have been young in 1971..he may have moved in almost as soon as he met her..
Davis doesnt seem to have much respect for anyone, least of all the father Stanley Dunham the white guy..messing around with his daughter right under his nose would be for laughs..

In Nov when she left school without finishing the course to “look after Obama Sr” ???
If she got pregnant in Nov she would not be “showing” in Feb just three months later...
So unless she told her parents, they might not have known...
In 1961 I think the first inclination would be to cover up the pregnancy not go running to your strait laced parents...
Ann had not dated in high school...maybe because her parents wouldnt let her hang out with boys ??? not that unusual for 1961...
Also she was ignorant (innocent) in some ways...Maybe she didnt know she was pregnant at first..
If she kept her secret until her parents realized she was pregnant, it might have been Feb and she was “showing” and 5-6 montghs by then..
They got to Hawaii in July...
She could have got pregnant any time after that...
There are no photos of baby Barry with the friends who claim they saw him in late August and he was only 3 weeks old...Susan might have seen him in June or July...
Remember Ann was staying with a friend of her Mom’s...That could have been at any time..no paper trail..
Plus I think it was Susan that mentioned the fires near Santa Cruz...
Did she mean she saw Ann about that time ???
The fires were in July not the end of August...
What do the fires have to do with her seeing Ann and the baby other than she claims she returned to WA because of all the smoke...

It is oddly speculated that Frank Marshall Davis took the pictures, an acquaintance of Mrs. Dunham when she was married, but we cannot possibly verify that he is the one (deceased now) and that sounds like partisan nonsense to us. He was a photographer among other literary pursuits as a Marxist organizer of some note in Hawaii.What we can say is that the photo session does appear to be authentic. If you carefully compare the known Stanley Ann Dunham photos with the naked versions, you can see unmistakable signs. The eyes are the same with the unusual eyebrows above. Her long cheek bone lines are similar as is the angle of her ears. Her nose is upturned in a French fashion while her mouth is petite and heart shaped cutely and her neck lines are the same. And nobody photoshops three images when one will do just fine.
Very interesting. You could be right about the origin of the photos.
Here’s maybe something else of interest:
1. Frank Davis was born in Arkansas City, Kansas
2. At 17, he was at Friends Univ. In Witchita then at Kansas State Univ. in Manhattan, Kansas. (after school, he moved to Chicago)
3. Ann’s parents were both born in Kansas: Madalyn’s birth place was Peru (very small) but she grew up in nearby Augusta; Stanley was born in El Dorado, Kansas
4. Their daughter Ann was born in Wichita, Kansas
At the time of Ann’s birth, the were all in Wichita.
Then they all ended up in Hawaii with Davis apparently working as an FBI informant. Another odd twist in O’s family history.
