You might try the “Pop” poem which Nerks has posted on this thread. It was published under the name Obama while at Occidental.
There is absolutely no sourced account that Barry went to Occidental as Soetoro.
If he was there as a foreign student it was as a Kenyan, not an Indonesian.
Obviously, many pushing the Soetoro/Occidental story are merely confused; but others may be spreading the false meme as a disinformation to confuse researchers. Your confusion is a testament to the disinformationalists’ success.
Hope this helps.
It has been alleged that Orly Taitz was able to get into the records of foreign students in California and found a listing for Barry Sotero. Obviously, that is not consistent with your position. I don’t have too much invested in either side of the debate in terms of what he called himself at Occidental, but, having heard about Taitz’s research, I am inclined to believe that his legal name while at Occidental was Barry Sotero.
Having seen many kids go through divorce when I was in school, I can say that there is always a confusion and dread when a student has to change his legal name because of a divorce. I can easily see any such child being reluctant to use their legal name to avoid embarrassment.
Basically I do not know and can’t claim to know what name he used at Occidental. The poem you quoted corroborates that he was indeed using the Obama name that year. Is the source of that poem and name contemperaneous - if so, then that year he was using Obama. What name did he used when he applied? The same name? Do you know?
And even more important than the name, is the nationality.
In 1980 Stanley Ann filed pleading with an Hawaqiian court for divorce from Lolo Soetoro, listing TWO children Lolo was responsible to support, one a minor (Maya) the other over eighteen (Barry). Lolo adopted Barry, naming him Barry Soetoro. In 1980, Barry was still legally Barry Soetoro because his mother entered him as Lolo's responsibility then.
Barry graduated from High School in June 1979 and entered Occi in August 1979, as Barry Soetoro by the legal pleading his mother made. But that was a nice try at obfuscation, Plum.
