Still catching up so forgive me if this has been addressed. There’s newspaperarchive.com and a slew of other resources online. If Kenya referred to itself as Republic of Kenya, prior to 12/12/64, it should be obvious by a perusal of contemporary newspapers.
Other than that, this colb as viewed at post 52 here, looks to be verifiable seven ways from sundown. Numbers, names. Should be a heck of a lot simpler to assess than the Rathergate docs. Plus if the original numbered book is missing, or a page thereof, that would be good enough for your average juror. In short, 0bama’s kettle just heated up a lot.

Thanks I was looking for some type of official document, letterhead, newspaper from 1964. I'll check that link out.

I found an article that stated that Zimbabwe and Kenya joined the UN just hours after gaining independence... but I don't have time to dig out any specifics of the name they registered with the UN. Anybody?
