By the time that the 14th was enacted, there were not likely any significant number of slaves whose parents had not been brought in legally. And I doubt that the writers of the ammendment were viewing anything like the issue we are. They were just trying to create voters out of non-voters.

I’m just saying that’s not what the 14th Amendment said:
“All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside.”

Again the NBC issue is distinct from the 14th Amen. though. Honestly, we don’t know if BO is even a citizen.
