Swordmaker, you have your facts completely wrong.

You are not citing from the original constitution of Kenya from 1963 as you suggest. You are quoting from the AMENDED constitution of Kenya AFTER it had declared itself a republic. The section you are citing is the result of an amendment after 1964.

The word REPUBLIC is not contained within Kenya's 1963 constitution.

Feel free to peruse the ORIGINAL 1963 constitution here:

"Article 3

This Constitution is the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya and shall have the force of law throughout Kenya and, subject to section 47, if any other law is inconsistent with this Constitution, this Constitution shall prevail and the other law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void.

That settles that.

I did a word search for the term “Republic” on that PDF file.

You are correct, in that version “republic” does not appear.

That is possible. However, I would need to see much more evidence than this.
