She was probably recorded as carrying an infant in arms when she came back to the US. IIRC, babies and children under a certain age didn’t have to have passports but traveled on their parents’ passports; they also were often not listed on passenger lists, either. Now, of course, everything has gotten a lot stricter, but at that time, I don’t think it would have been impossible for her to bring her baby back into the US under her passport.
No, babies traveled on their mother’s passport back then. Immigration would have reason to stop an American citizen (Ann) with HER child.
But honestly, do you really think in 1961 some immigration officials would stop an American woman and say “hey, how long have you lived in the US, etc...”
Furthermore, if Obama’s grandparents DID file for a birth certificate for Obama while Ann was in Kenya, no one would have investigated further.
But I’m telling you TECHNICALLY, Ann did not have the ability to transfer citizenship AUTOMATICALLY to Obama, she could however get him naturalized and he would be (by his own admission) a dual citizen.
Natural Born he is not. Especially if born outside the US.
