What is weird is he provided an obvious forgery and it was not even a birth certifcate (BC) it was a COLB.
Why would you post an obvious forgery of a COLB? The COLB does not prove he was born in HI. My guess is he may not know what the real BC looks like circa 1961 so they whipped up the fake COLB.
What is strange is that after six plus months of repeating the basic facts of citizenship documentation, that some freepers, and this probably more than half the public, still ask basic questions or hold "impressions" of facts that are not correct.
Here then are some basic facts:
- A Hawaiian COLB is not an original birth record. It is a summary report of what those records say.
- It is not necessary to have been born in Hawaii to have a Hawaiian COLB. This is because up until some year (1972 iirc) non-official parties -- such as parents or grandparents -- could register a birth outside of Hawaii.
- It is not necessary to present a birth certificate or other legal report of birth to get a passport. A passport can be gotten by self-affidavit in circumstances where no birth records are available.
- Being a citizen is different than being "natural born".
- What the term "natural born" in the US Constitution means is NOT settled law.
