New audio tape on old video.

Comrade Jim Jones and The Peoples Temple pledge their loyalty to the Soviet Union and sing the Soviet Anthem (as they did nightly) a month before their mass suicide.

Thanks for the hot news? Are the folks at the ‘cults-smearing’ office of Texas CPS/DSS working overtime this weekend?

This may be relevant to current events: wasn’t the rev Jones a founder of “Liberation Theology” now so popular with presidential candidates?

Jim Jones was not only an atheist, but a hard core atheist. “Liberation Theology” is out of the question. Jones also separately believed that the Bible was false and used to stomp on it during meetings.

He repeatedly stated over and over to his followers that he used religion to convert them (”religion is an opiate of the masses”) to follow the one true religion, “socialism.” In fact, they got tired of stating it.

Interestingly, despite the Peoples Temple yelling this at the top of their lungs and taking the name church eventually out of their name, people kept asking them about it.

He also seems to have some other talents
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Jones
“In MacArthur Park, Los Angeles on December 13, 1973, Jones was arrested and charged with soliciting a man for sex in a movie theater bathroom known for homosexual activity. [8] The man was an undercover Los Angeles Police Department vice officer. Jones is on record as later telling his followers that he was “the only true heterosexual,” but at least one account exists of his sexually abusing a male member of his congregation in front of the followers, ostensibly to prove the man's own homosexual tendencies.[8]
