Rudy Giuliani Throws Hat Into 2008 Presidential Ring
Post Chronicle ^ | 2/1/07

Posted on 02/01/2007 5:41:39 AM PST by areafiftyone

According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring.  The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots.

"Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously.

Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report.

Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week.

In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup.

The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance.  As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett.

Something is wrong with McCain. Really wrong.

Well, Spiff, I stand corrected again. I certainly thought that both you and FA were like hydroshock in your "anti-abortion" stance (he has said that abortion is the single determining factor for him...I hope I didn't get that wrong also).

I am curious, however, why you put the war and our troops below other conservative issues.

Obviously you don't know his positions on anything.

I would consider him because I haven't learned yet that his views are counter to the ideals of the Republican Party. Can you educate me on his views so that I can make an informed decision? You're the one promoting him in post after post and even in your tagline. One would assume that you actually know where he stands and not just because he makes you feel all tingly inside.

"Do you even know Thompson's views on the issues? I am seriously interested in knowing where he stands on issues important to Republicans - like the ones so important that the national delegates meet every four years, hash them out, and enshrine them in a document called the Republican Party Platform. I would support him if he supports most of those positions. I would fight him if he does not."

I checked Fred Thompson's record and stats on the issues the other day when someone mentioned him as a "Draft vote".

He is a rock solid conservative Republican and votes correctly on all the issues.

I would work my butt off for a Thompson/ Hunter ticket!

If he would run I could sell that door to door.

Rudy can bring those voters back to the Republican side.

Silly you! The "real, true" conservatives don't want them back!

If its Hillary versus Rudy, the choices would be between two liberals. That should be a major concern to ALL conservatives. America's future would be in the hands of a liberal POTUS. Is that what you really want? Not me. I'm cofident in the end, the GOP will nominate a conservative candidate.

I snorted because you said you'd consider him and asked me what he was for.

By the way, you didn't "snort". You posted the word "snot". It's not your fault though. I figured out where the R went. Rudy stole it and pinned it on himself so that he could masquerade as a Republican to fool people into voting for him. But he'll need a far bigger R than that to hide his anti-Republican positions on most issues.

What was their excuse in 2006? The GOP lost seats in 2006 because the Independents and Moderates were sick of the GOP and voted Democrat. Rudy can bring those voters back to the Republican side.

That really killed us in Ohio last year. We had a VERY conservative candidate for Governor and he got creamed by over 20%. The idea that just running a very conservative candidate will mean victory is hopelessly naive.

He was McCain's national campaign manager.

Fred Thompson was McCain's national campaign manager.

Well, that's pretty much all I needed to know.

It's not my job to educate you on the candidates.

I'm NOT promoting him.

The rest of your post is an assinine as you are.

You don't have an absolute guarantee that Rudy WON'T appoint strict constructionists. What we do know is that he praised Alito's appointment.

Let's put it in some context - George Bush Sr. appointed David Souter, who was and is squishy in the extreme. No one, no one sane anyway, is saying that his re-election in 1992 wouldn't have been better for the world than the election of Bill Clinton.

Oh, I was mistaken then.

I said SNOT in reply to this a*hole remark:

"Or is it all about picking the "most winningest" candidate despite his views?"
