According to a source close to The Giuliani campaign, Rudy Giuliani is throwing his hat into the ring. The Hinzsight Report confirms, through a source close to the Giuliani campaign, that he is presently sending people out into all 50 states to secure his name on the primary ballots. "Despite Mayor Giuliani's public cautiousness, this is evidence that he is seriously pursuing the Presidency in 2008, and he should be taken very seriously. Critical state polls have shown Mayor Giuliani leading the pack, and it's about time that he start being considered what he is--the front-runner" a source tells The Hinzsight Report. Giuliani has lined up nearly 300 key Republican supporters in New Jersey for his bid for the 2008 presidential nomination, his campaign announced this week. In a recent Quinnipiac University poll of New Jersey voters, it showed Giuliani leading all Republican presidential candidates and ahead of Sen. Hillary Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, in a head-to-head matchup. The New Jersey primary, which is currently set for Feb. 26, is likely to move up to Feb. 5, placing it early in the campaign season and increasing its significance. As many as 15 states could hold their Republican presidential primaries Feb. 5, reports Gannett. |
Other than tax cuts, the biggest domestic issue of the 2004 election was President Bush's support of a Constitutional Amendment to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. Unfortunately, Rudy Giuliani has taken a "Kerryesque" position on gay marriage.
Although Rudy, like John Kerry, has said that marriage should remain between a man and a woman, he also supports civil unions, "marched in gay-pride parades" ...dressed up in drag on national television for a skit on Saturday Night Live (and moved in with a) wealthy gay couple" after his divorce. He also very vocally opposed running on a gay marriage amendment:
His thoughts on the gay-marriage amendment? "I don't think you should run a campaign on this issue," he told the Daily News earlier this month. "I think it would be a mistake for anybody to run a campaign on it -- the Democrats, the president, or anybody else."
Here's more from the New York Daily News:
"Rudy Giuliani came out yesterday against President Bush's call for a ban on gay marriage.
The former mayor, who Vice President Cheney joked the other night is after his job, vigorously defended the President on his post-9/11 leadership but made clear he disagrees with Bush's proposal to rewrite the Constitution to outlaw gays and lesbians from tying the knot.
"I don't think it's ripe for decision at this point," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."
"I certainly wouldn't support [a ban] at this time," added Giuliani..."
Although Rudy may grudgingly say he doesn't support gay marriage (and it would be political suicide for him to do otherwise), where he really stands on the issue is an open question.
If a candidate can't secure the entire base (and not a few percent of it), he will not win. But if he cannot attract the squishy middle, he will not win even if he has the whole base.
It's a sticky wicket that makes me glad I'm not running for President.
I wish more people on this forum had *common sense* like you.
The nation in general hasn't heard the underbelly stories about Giuliani. They will hear about it now, as well as the history of Giuliani Partners and the financial scams they have perpetrated on the American taxpayers. Bernie Kerik picked a very convenient time to accept that job in Guyana.
Excellent post IMHO!
IN Rino Rudy you are advocating someone just as liberal as Hitlary.
Well, I see the spammers are here.
This thread is over.
Rudy will divide the base. I won't vote for a rino. I'm done with having the option of holding my nose or holding my nose tighter. We need a real conservative.
Spamming is so in these days. Maybe we should try it :-)
Some of us will.

The words of Jim Robinson on pushing a liberal like Rino Rudy.
I'd advise you not to put words in my mouth. I understand you need to do that to try to prove you're a "real, true" conservative, but you best watch who you say crap like that to; some of us actually pay attention to the lies.
I suspect it's all going to be a done deal by the time the election rolls around, either way.
sw
I never have understood how they think that accomplishes anything.
Do they think if they post it enough, people will finally just throw up their hands and say, "Oh, okay, I'll go against everything I believe because you're so annoying?"
Oh, wait.......isn't that just how liberals and the MSM do it? Hmm...
I think the stories about his marriages are known. But the the things you write are not known and need to be addressed.
That's what I get for thinking the world thinks like me. (Which would be very scary)
We can think for ourselves, but thanks anyway.
And I recall the forum owner saying in November 2006 before the election that the WOT is the most important issue. And on that, Rudy wins hands down.
But thanks for the spam.
Where have you been? The nation as a whole was right there when Rudy got divorced. It was front page news. Donna Hanover did a (I am a victim) press conference at the time.
