You see, uniting the one issue conservatives is not as important as getting the common sense conservatives who want to win in coalition with the rest of the Republicans, Indy's, and conservative Democrats who also place WOT and national security at the top of their lists along with smaller government.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there are many Republicans who are also Conservative that don't put abortion even close to the top of their list when looking at a candidate. Bill Bennett was one in his list.

I would suggest Rudy do a poll to see how criticial the social issues are for holding the party together.

There is a clairification out that Rudy said legal immigrants to be citizens not illegals. I don't have time to find it but when I do, I will give you the source.

I would bet he has done that very precise thing, and it has shown him the potential damage. That could be the major reason he has not entered the race officially.
