The Candidate (Rudy Giuliani in NH)

Many skeptics continue to question whether Rudy Giuliani is serious about making a run for the White House, but it was abundantly clear on Saturday that he had come to Manchester for more than the sub-freezing temperatures.
Addressing over 500 activists at the New Hampshire Republican Party's annual meeting as part of a two-day swing through the state, Giuliani sketched the broad outlines of what looks like a presidential run. Sounding at times like a motivational speaker, Giuliani cautioned against cynicism and pessimism in the wake of November's election results and challenges in the ongoing War on Terror. The message especially resonated with the audience in this critical primary state, where the Republican Party just lost control of both chambers of the legislature for the first time since the 1870s.
"The best way we remain safe and we retain our freedom...is remaining on offense, remaining strong and not becoming weak in a time of pressure," Giuliani said in a line that drew the biggest applause from the crowd at the Palace Theater.

The American electorate, a Senate filibuster, or the courts can stop the socialist in our country. None of these options can stop the Islamic fascist. We're going to have to continue to have a strong CiC to do that.

We are betraying the troops because we're pointing out that Giuliani is an anti-gun, pro partial-birth abortion liberal?
That's absurd. If one cannot criticize candidates because it's seen as giving ammo to the Dem that runs against the candidate, why...we would never engage in debate, we would cancel the primary and just appoint one candidate, and make it illegal to criticize that candidate!
Which...come to think of it, sounds frightfully like McCain's strategy!

From a more serious note, I'm right with you on that.
We MUST win this next election. There will be no second chances. The only way we can do that is with a unified party, that does not alienate Independents, moderates or swing voters. The margin is too thin for anything less.
Principals will have to wait until we get control of the legislature back.

I'm only funny if I have some fodder. That's why I like EV so much. He's kinda like a comedy pinata. Give him a good verbal whack and great jokes fall out.
I don't think I'd like meet EV in person though...I suspect he's one of those people who inadvertantly spooks you by never blinking. To be truthful Alan Keyes kinda spooks me. It 's the staring and stereotypical gesturing. I can see why EV is enthralled with him.

I think you've pretty much got their agenda pegged. Typical tactics of the Left: If you've got no decent philosophical base for your side, bully and try to intimidate everyone on the other side. They're the FR equivalent of Brown Shirts.

You're pretty much clueless as to what we are trying to say. We have to WIN, our candidate has to be a major player and one who does not alienate moderates, independents or swing voters. A strong Conservative does not stand a chance of winning right now.
We can work out the other issues after we get the government back. That's how we reinstill Conservative values back into our government. WE can't do that if we no longer have control of it. Is that so hard to understand?

Someone needs to check their facts, sort of makes your other postings questionable... seems you arent doing such a spiffy job! It was widely reported after Hillary made claims as to Chelsea's whereabouts on the morning of 9-11 that she wasnt anywhere near there. I guess I'm not all that familiar with New York City, but isn't Park Avenue South considered to be "downtown"?

Chelsea stated she was in a friend's apartment on Park Ave South which is miles from the WTC. Hillary placed her in Battery Park which would have placed her just about at Ground Zero, had it been true.

Your going to lecture FREEPTOM on personal attacks? Go stare at the screen by yourself.
You could always hit the abuse botton if your are losing an argument with yourself!

What has anyone in the field of candidates done, who unlike Rudy, wasn't at GROUND ZERO? Rudy rallied the people in New York City, he coordinated what had to be done, went to the sight, and tried to maintain calm, in the face of an actual attack.
What did you want him to do...go down into the wreckage and try to find the bits and pieces of the terrorists and prosecute them?

Hillary placed her in Battery Park which would have placed her just about at Ground Zero, had it been true. I don't care what Chelsea claimed. I didn't claim it. And it is irrelevant to what I posted. I only said that Chelsea was "downtown" because another FReeper stated that one of Rudy's qualifications for fighting a global war against terrorism was that he was "downtown" when the towers fell.
