WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney's pregnant lesbian daughter Mary will make a "fine mom," President George W. Bush said, sidestepping his past comment that a child ideally would be raised by a mother and father.
Mary Cheney, 37, and her longtime partner, Heather Poe, are expecting their first child, which would be the sixth grandchild for the vice president. Cheney was hired last year as an executive for America Online.
"I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I'm happy for her," Bush said in an interview with People magazine.
Then, with the government's sanction, all sorts of deviant behavior will be allowed. Polygamy, and pedophilia to name a few, along with illegal immigration, and viola, the U.S. will cease to exist as a sovereign nation. Just like Marx and Engel foretold.
Be advised, one thing (among others) needed to allow this to happen is the confiscation of all firearms. Not to worry, I and who they send for my weapons, won't be around to see my prediction come true.

AMEN!!!!!!!

So if you had a daughter who was friends with their daughter, you would have no problem with them pretending to be homosexuals? How about planning a wedding for Barbie and Stacey? How about sons planning a wedding for Ken and GIJoe? Those are the sort of details this eventually leads to. You can't just pick and choose. When children are brought into this immorality stuff then it eventually affects all children.
I'm sure both President Bush and Mary Cheney's parents would prefer she was living as a normal, married woman. The reality is that Mary Cheney is an adult, free to do as she pleases, and the President of the United States is not going to savage her in public as some seem to think is his duty. I fail to see any logical reason for the intense condemnation he is receiving on this thread.
President Bush's views on homosexuality and the benefit of a child living in a two-parent, mom-and dad home are known and recorded. That he said something positive about Mary Cheney's mothering skills is hardly a blanket approval of homosexuality or homosexual child-bearing. It would be inappropriate for the president to make negative comments on his Vice President's daughters pregnancy. That Bush knows better than to do so simply shows his class while the screaming condemnations shows their authors mean-spirited and self-serving desire to attack other's Christian convictions.
I reject that attitude ans applaud President Bush for his finesse in dealing with a difficult subject.
Christians seem to want their God to be such a petty God, it seems. But it's not God who is petty. Just some of his Son's followers.
I cannot believe it, but I am agreeing with you more and more. :-)
"Where's the "common sense" in lesbian marriage and artificially induced lesbian parenthood?"
(Wagglebee - sneaking out from my sickbed - it's boorring - I doubt if you want another one of "these" threads but fyi anyway.)
Mean spirited, heartless... taleban by another.
All we need now is a rousing rendition of 'Nazi!'.
We have pinged a couple of these Mary Cheney threads already. It seems that due to Miss Cheney's status that these threads are largely devoid of any objectivity regarding her lifestyle and pregnancy.
"Bush could have very easily said "I am not going to comment on the personal life of Mary Cheney. I respect her privacy", and leave it at that. It is very disappointing that he chose ebullient praise of a homosexual artificial procreation, but certainly not surprising given his increasing wishy-washiness."
Excellent.
I agree. James Webb showed how to be a real low class ass by letting his convictions take precedence over social decorum when he insulted President Bush in the receiving line at the White House. IMO, President Bush wasn't just being polite or even kind when he made his remarks about Mary Cheney. He really does wish her well and thinks she will be a good mother. If he was in to condemnation, he would have had to include the sperm donor as either a fornicator or adulterer and he would have had a long sermon to deliver on all of the moral consequences of socially irregular pregnancies and relationships. President Bush is not a 'scarlet letter' guy, thank God.
Normally I would oppose this, but since its the daughter of a friend ...
What no "Moral Absolutes" ping...?
What if this was Clinton saying this about Chelsea?.....absolutes are absolutes right?
Also being a bunch of busybodies too....
A loving family! Lol! Two gay women are not a family!
And you think having money and education and famous grandparents will automatically make this kids life a wonderful one? Sorry, I don't buy into that.
There have already been multiple pings about Mary Cheney. Anyone who is interested is sure to find this one too.

I thought this was just a faux pas?
We don't need a 'scarlet letter' guy as President..
