Bush: happy for Cheney's gay daughter pregnancy
Reuters ^ | 12/15/06

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney's pregnant lesbian daughter Mary will make a "fine mom," President George W. Bush said, sidestepping his past comment that a child ideally would be raised by a mother and father.

Mary Cheney, 37, and her longtime partner, Heather Poe, are expecting their first child, which would be the sixth grandchild for the vice president. Cheney was hired last year as an executive for America Online.

"I think Mary is going to be a loving soul to her child. And I'm happy for her," Bush said in an interview with People magazine.

Why do you keep posting a question that I've answered in detail repeatedly? Do you think you're proving something?

Then why the overwhelming success of the marriage amendments?

The states are where this kind of thing belongs, imo. (Notice how I am answering your question. It's conservative to answer questions). 27 states have amendments - Four or five states have laws favorable to gays - or civil unions or domestic partnerships. I suspect that NY state will join them this year.

The states will do their own things. That's neat.

Doesn't mean that homosexuals are not in the public square. They ARE in the public square. And they are there to stay.

No, just want you to answer a question.

You won't. You are afraid to answer.

Trust me, I really really really don't want to even entertain the slightest thought of what you and Mrs. EV do in the bedroom.

Really

How did you answer, the question was a yes or no question, no detail needed.

Yes or No:

Do you think you have the right to know what goes on in people's bedrooms?????

God is the Judge.

But He also tasks human beings to fulfill certain tasks in this world on His behalf...for the benefit of those He created. Human government is His gift to help restrain fallen man. This is what the men who built this republic believed, and it is what I believe. Like them, I'm a Christian and a republican.

"I answered your question a long time ago on this thread."

Bull hockers, you've yet to answer it.

Why?

EV and his ilk are deconstructing Goldwater/Reagan conservatism, and trying to replace it with religious collectivism disguised as conservatism.

Every one of EV's posts will argue in favor of bigger government, more government intrusion into the lives of citizens, Federal enforcement of religious beliefs, and less personal freedom.

As I said, "social conservative" is an oxymoron.

Okay, I'll answer you for the sixth time: It is not me who is obsessed with people's bedrooms, it is you. You get your jollies by trying to make people think that Christians are a bunch of tyrants.

Again, it is the push into the public square that concerns me. Your encroachment on my rights, and the rights of my children. The shrill demand that the people should accept what is immoral, whether they like it or not. The demand that our children should be indoctrinated with filth. The demand for special rights, and the abbrogation of our most basic institutions of marriage and of the family.

Here's one more for you: The demand for what God calls an abomination, and which has throughout history called down wrath on every nation that allowed itself to be overcome by this depth of depravity. That's right CS, I believe in the God of the Bible, and I believe that he judges nations as well as individuals.

And when our own President acts as if immoral behavior is acceptable, and even a positive good, this republic is in grave danger.

Thanks for answering the question finally. It was like pulling teeth to get you to do it.

God is the Judge. I agree. And, for me, that means exactly what it says. God is the Judge. Man is NOT the Judge.

It is the nature of government to become tyranical. That is why the Founders gave us the Constitution - enumerating what the federal government was to be about. And the Founders were clear in including the Bill of Rights - giving us more info about what *individual* rights are. The freedoms that we all have - sinners and righteous. The government's role is to secure our rights - not to attempt to take them away. And that includes the *right* to sin...and the *right* NOT to be a Christian or even to believe in God.

Yes or no, that is all I require.

Its nice you believe in the Bible, honestly, but not everyone does, and its not your place to try to make others believe in what you do.

You only have part of the picture, unfortunately. You neglect the fact that no one has the right to do wrong. You may have the power to do so, but not the right.

I just wanted a yes or no answer.

You wouldn't provide it.

And, once again the EV we all know and love has shown himself again.

Thanks for living up to every stereotype the left has about religious conservatives.

So would you say, then, that you're not doing very well in saving the nation?

Since the democrats just won the House and Senate - how do you propose to *save* the nation? More of the same? It seems to me that is the definition of insanity isn't it?

The proof is in the pudding, EV. People have the *right* to do wrong. They have free will - free choice. If people did not have the *right* to do wrong - there would be no wrong. A *right* is similar to a *freedom*. You have the *right* to fail - you have the *right* to lie - you have the *right* to break the law ( and be prosecuted for it). You have the *right* to sin. Ask Newt - he committed adultery. He had the *right* and the *freedom* to do it.
