No Giuliani, No McCain
Petition Online ^ | Dec. 14, 2006 | Andrew Longman

Posted on 12/15/2006 7:22:32 PM PST by FarRockaway

To: The Republican Party

I am a Christian conservative or social conservative. I am Pro-Life. I vote.

Rudy Giuliani is pro-gay, pro-gun control, and pro-abortion.

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Senator John McCain has waffled on human cloning, has supported experimentation on human embryos, and has attacked prominent Christian clergy because of the, "evil influence that they exercise." John McCain has said of Pro-Life voters, on a public broadcast radio show, that they are, "otherwise intelligent people who say that that's the only issue that will determine their vote." McCain told the San Francisco Chronicle, "I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade."

For these reasons and others, I state very firmly that I will not vote for John McCain for President of the United States under any circumstances.

Sincerely,

Tossing non-profane, coherent debate into the back alley demonstrates a lack of candor.

Good luck with that minority.

You said -- "I've known Mormons too, and I have never met one I didn't like."

And you've probably never met one that was a Christian either.

Unless they've totally renounced their group's teachings and given up their "extra-curricular" sources of authority (outside of the Bible). But, then again -- if they did that -- they wouldn't be a Mormon, would they?

They are defined, in Christian terms and in its theology as a *cult*.

Documentation provided from many many sources. A good starting point is a classic work on the cults from Walter Martin -- called "The Kingdom of the Cults" --

http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Cults-Walter-Martin/dp/0764228218/

There's much more out there, and there's no disputing that they're not Christian, with ample documentation from all sorts of Christian theologians (from different Christian denominations, no less).

Regards,
Star Traveler

Indeed? So, politicians ''accomplish'' something, do they?

They do research, do they, and publish objective results, useful science, for the nation and/or various citizens? Don't think so. Doubtless, you know FAR better, eh?

They make a crop (pardon me, please if you don't know what that phrase implies)? Don't think so, but doubtless, again, you know far better.

They invent somethinng useful? I am, of course, not referring to their assorted biographies in many cases. Lincoln is the only President with a patent to his name, but -- doubtless -- you know far better.

They paint, or otherwise create art? They write music? Coolidge's VP wrote the tune ''It's All In The Game'', and he's unique in that regard. But -- doubtless -- you know better.

They invent a new way of doing business, a la Ray Kroc or Sam Walton, and employ hundreds of thousands of people? The last person who ran for President and subsequently tried to operate a business was McGovern. He couldn't even manage a tourist inn, and the business failed. But, of course, you know better.

Accomplish? You use that word as would Humpty-Dumpty; in your little world, it **appears** to mean exactly what you say it means, except...you never say what it means.

''Accomplish'' means, in the real world, to get something done, presumptively something positive. McLame, in real-world history is THE single most crashed pilot in US Navy history, 5 planes. Quite an accomplishment. He was also involved (and of course excused, the US Senate being what it is) in the Keating scandal. I won't even mention his treatment of his wife, doubtless know-alls such as you are fully informed.

Mutt Romney? Don't get me started. Silver spoon at birth (nothing wrong w/that, btw, but no extra credit for it either), REFUSED, point-blank, to challenge the absolutely unlawful 4-3 ruling (read the MA Constitution, boyo) from the MSSC decreeing, out of thin air, that fag ''unions'' are on the same footing as matrimony.

Then, when you're bored with that (I'll give it 5 seconds or so), look up the legislative history of the most recent anti-''assault weapon'' bill that the MA Assembly passed. You'll find (but, you know this already, Mr. Knowall) that Mutt himself shepherded that bill right through.

Accomplished, eh? My accomplishments are modest (and I'll list them for you if you like), but at least they **EXIST**. I can't -- and you can't either, if you're honest (at this point a dubious proposition) -- name a SINGLE accomplishment, an inarguably positive result produced by, either McLame or Mutt.

Giuliani, contrarily, whose politics I can't stand but may have to suffer, has indeed accomplished a number of things. Getting punk criminals off the streets of a city in LARGE numbers is indeed an accomplishment. Too bad that accomplishment is now down the sewer courtesy of Mikey Bumbug.

And, just BTW, it really isn't wise to attack someone ad hominem, as you just did, without having facts in hand. Which you didn't -- you don't know me from Julius Caesar, but are, quite evidently, still sufficiently an egotist supreme enough to make declarations about my life and/or accomplishments.

Accomplishments, is it, forsooth? Politicians are leeches on the body politic, and it's entirely rare that they, as a class, have ''accomplished'' anything positive in their own lives.

Except, of course, if you count getting elected as an ''accomplishment''.

Notwithstanding the above, a very Happy Christmas to you and your family.

Most of them are newbies. Some, with old signups, haven't posted for years and others are well known fringers.

They may b e able to make FR the joke of the net, but they will NOT be able to do a damned thing, vis-a-vis the GOP presidential primaries. And unless the rest of us work extra hard during the general presidential election, they WILLM/BIG> hand over the White House to whichever Dem is the presidential candidate.

Take names, make a list and keep it current. Should we lose the '08 election, make sure that you NEVER allow a whinging reply, from any of these posters, to remain on ANY thread on FR, after the first Tuesday in November of '08.

[And just like Dubya, Rudy believes in the power of government... BIG GOVERNMENT!]

I agree with this as well as pretty much everything else you said in your post.

I'm not worried (yet) because I think that the next legislative year is the opportunity that genuine conservatives will be looking for to parade their credentials before the base by proudly speaking out against the BigGovernment crap we know is coming from the Democrat Congress. I hope that we'll have several great candidates to choose from going into the primary that it won't be necessary to hold our noses to vote in November 08.

Oh, and great screen name. :^)

You said -- "I'm Missouri Synod Lutheran, I am sure you don't agree 100% with us. But I also guarantee that if you actually go read Mormon history and the Book of Mormon, you will understand that it is a cult."

It's well documented that it's a cult. As I've referred to this book several times, I'll do so again. It's a well respected book and considered to be *the authority* on the "Christian cults" (ones that try to take the place of true Christianity). And Walter Martin also gives the *definition* of true Christianity -- in terms of "historic" doctrines that the entire Christian church (all denominations) respect and adhere to.

His book is called -- "The Kingdom of the Cults" --

A non-starter. Women's suffrage is Constitutionally guaranteed. No president, of either sex, can ''roll it back''.

Taking troll lessons at DU, are you? Even if so, you've failed them badly.

"Show me where I have said anything GOOD about Muslims or Islam! I think you might be imbibing tonight?"

You Sir must be imbibing. You are the one who took up unrestrained defense of a certain lady who was all for allowing Muslims to be President. Since you so heatedly took up her defense, you must certainly also take responsibility for defending her position, for I ridiculed it most mercilously.

Now, be a good Prince Valiant and defend the position that Muslims should be allowed to be President. Certainly you can show us all how this is somehow NOT idiotic, and that fair Guinevere is endowed with more than a 20 watt bulb in the belfry.

My advice, make certain you know what you are defending before being sucked into a swamp.
