Wow, yeah. Expunge Reagan & GW from history and give us real people like Elizabeth Dole, Bob Dole, Lincoln Chaffee or some other broken down old tweedy barfmat who can't win the Indiana Lion's Club straw poll. Yeah! Get rid of those stupid conservatives from the Republican party so we can have some...some...middle of the road blah-fest. Yeah! Right now! Hurry!

But Mormons are Christians, they believe in Jesus Christ. I would have 2nd thoughts these days about a Muslim candidate, as much as I hate to admit it. That goes beyond mere religion in the world we live in, it's more a way of life and one we're now afraid of. Obama has that hurdle, they just haven't talked about it much as yet. He's the star of the moment.

W didn't come out of left field. He was the annointed one years in advance. He was Bush's son. He had the money. He was no outsider or surprise candidate.

Wrong!
A real conservative can win. Giuliani is not a conservative, and it sickens me how any freeper could support him. Clearly those freepers who do are not conservatives, just republicans. Sad. Very sad.

Many people in the South ignorantly loathe Mormons, deriding them as "cultists". This from a group of people who still think Bear Bryant is alive and well. Thank you for speaking on behalf of the South from your perch in Idaho. I live in the deep South and resent your nasty and fallacious remarks.
Get a load of this one, Howlin.

Pence is heads and tails above Tancredo, but he still doesn't have it..
How about Tommy Franks?
Oh hell, let's send Helen Thomas a present and push for Cheney to serve 4.. she did make us a promise... and it would shut up all the HSWs trying to split our side..

"I, for one, won't vote for Tancredo."
I know it won't happen, but let's pretend it's a Tancredo vs. Clinton race in 2008. For whom do you vote?

So let's say a Thatcheresque Republican one day finds herself up against a Kerryesque 'Rat in the general election, and there were no attractive third party candidates. Would you sit that one out?
Yes Sir. I won't vote for a woman. The reasons are complex and deep rooted. Sorry. Let us hope to never find ourselves in a predicament similar to the one you described.

last i checked McCain was pro-life. can you provide a link to back up your claim?
I don't remember where, but I once heard him say that he would oppose oveturning Roe v. Wade.
He's anti-borders too.
"Close to Bush" is a negative indictment. Bush hasn't done more than half a dozen "conservative" things apart from the WoT.

Do you even have to ask that????

It's hard to find an uglier or stupider post than
to call someone uglier and stupider. So, I guess I'll
just let the prize stand uncontested. As for religion
bashing, I hope you don't start. I didn't.

[I don't think anyone will ever really know who "won" Florida.]
I don't want to sidetrack this thread and I agree with a lot of stuff on your post but I just couldn't let this one float by without comment; Bush WON Florida. Fair and square. No doubt about it. End of story.
When a little more time passes and sober historians comment on the 2000 election, they will unanimously record that AlGore and his fellow Democrats failed in their attempt to fraudulently steal the election from the rightful winner.

Let's pretend you're serious about anything.
I don't "do" hypotheticals. They're dumb.
And they're usually posted by somebody like you who has an agenda and doesn't have what's best for this country in their heart.
Having said that, I think Tancredo is a fool and a one trick pony.

"Isn't there a reason for party primaries?"There are lots of reasons. One of them is to give liberals in open-primary states an opportunity to vote for Republicans like McCain in order to weaken conservative turn-out in the election. This is exactly what they tried to do the last time McCain threw his hat into the presidential primaries. There is a reason the media fawns on McCain.
