Both my parents worked. I don't feel that I was raised, in effect, without either a true mother or father. How insulting.

Some parents both have to work just to get by. That's obviously not the case here, but tell me honestly: Do you think having both parents working is good for the children?

Well, maybe I'm biased because of the way I was brought up. But I think it was good for me. It depends on the parents - there are many parents who don't work who are crappy parents and many who do that are great parents. I respect both of my parents who were able to have careers and still bring me up. Quite well, I might add.

The thing is, if you had just said that having two parents that work isn't as good for a child than if one didn't, I wouldn't have posted back to you. But saying that because parents work, they aren't "true" parents is ludicrous and indefensible.
