Read the book there is only one chapter that mentions her lifestyle and if she had omitted that can you imagine what would have said selling out etc etc.
She clearly states her position where it differs from that of others within the Republican Party etc but in no way does she try to force it down your throat.
The rest of the book tells of her life from a small child supporting and being involved campaigning for her father. There are many funny incidents and stories and apart from that one chapter and casual references to Heather there is no further mention of that aspect of her life.

OK. My original point is still diminished as it revolved around Ms. Cheney's attempting to remain as much as possible a private citizen. By engaging herself through books and appearances she's taken on the public figure role (with or sans activism). This is fine, or not, per each of our opinions, but it spoils my hypothesis about why Ms. Cheney is treated differently by FReepers than she would be if she was a Dim.
With that I'll bow out of the thread.
