Soon as Stevens announces his retirement, it will be clear to all conservatives who want a conservative Justice what a mistake it was for those who didn't vote Republican, it will be especially clear when Bush is forced to have to put up a O'Conner gutless milk toast moderate instead of a Constitutionalist conservative like Scalia, because he can't get one like him through with a Democrat Senate.
We'll see. There is nothing good that will come out of a flaming liberal socialist Democrat controlled Congress in a time of war.
The people are a learning how to vote money right out of the treasury.

No I didn't sleep at all because America let the miltiary down. We will soon retreat from Iraq and those that destroy Iraq will come looking for us. If you slept really well knowing the Democrats won the Congress then you're just a liberal hack troll who's wanted the Republican party defeated and really have no place on this board, which is a board for CONSERVATIVES. If you're happy when America fails, then I feel sorry for you. I'm sad because AMerica has now failed the miltiary, and most voters would rather run away and lose a war that will come find us, then stay and fight and win. Moderate? If you think I'm a moderate when you never read anything I wrote before. I'm not a gutless RINO moderate. I'm a strong Christian conservative who recognized the fact months ago that a weakly led RINO riddled GOP majority was better than a flaming liberal socialist anti-war defeatest Democrat majority. You don't get it at all, and it's that kind of thought that has made the military wonder right now, "so what did we bust our hump for? The voters couldn't even stick it out as long as we were willing to". The American people have failed the miltiary. The Democrats will introduce a whole new generation of military patriots to the shame the Democrats bestowed on the Vietnam vets like my father, who served for four tours, voluntarilly, not be draft, then got spat on by some good Democrat, after coming home from doing his duty. That is what a Democrat Congress will bring. If you're proud of that, then you have a problem.

Except of course that the President will be the scapegoat and all the world's ills will still be his fault. The Dems have carte blanch ability to flock everything up and it will still be the GOP's fault.
Well I wouldn't know. But clearly it was enough to blow close elections that should have been safe seats for Republicans if conservatives were voting Republican. I have yet to see anyone challenge that reality with anything factual. The people here to have gotten so snippy with me seem to prove my point. Many conservatives cut and run and didn't vote Republican, and that was enough to cost the Senate and Housee. Just because SOME PEOPLE don't like the taste of their creation, that's not my problem. I VOTED REPUBLICAN to AVOID a Democrat Congress. Those who didn't will have their own demons to deal with.

I think they would care if they believed that Islam is a real threat. Most Americans don't. Unfortunately that's not reality and radical Islam just got a big shot of steroids.
I've been here on FR since 1998, newbie---where the hell were you back then? I'm ex-military, from a family with a long track record of military service, and at this very moment, my brother is on his third tour of duty over in Iraq. America hasn't failed---the Republican party failed to maintain power. That's all. This country has survived worse, and will survive even this.

Indeed. I never have been impressed with his moderate streak and seeming desire to be liked by Democrats. Much as I like him and belive him to be a real Christian, he's never done anything as a hard REAL conservative other than the war and Judicial nominees. And that's always been a huge drag agianst him that conservaitves like us really are annoyed by. Your post is so totally right.
You're welcome. I've taken a lot of crap for it but I feel it had to be done once. After today, it needs to be all about rebulding the Republican party as a REAL CONSERVATIVE party like it was in 1994, NO RINOS, no SECULAR gutless wonders like McCain, CONSERVATIVE VALUES that founded this country and protected it for 200 years, or NOTHING!

He even waivered on the Harriet Myers nomination. Just think if it hadn't of been for conservative outrage we wouldn't have Alito in there. I hate to poke a man when hes down. I believe he has good intentions. His vision was wide on the war but narrow in extolling the conservative heart of the party. 6 years in it has become obvious. There will be miserable days ahead. I guess I will get a hobby.
Go count them. People like you multiple posting to me doesn't mean you outnumber the majority of peopel who post once or twice and then move on because that have a life. I'm posting while I work, the ones who agree with me comment and then leave, it's the minority like you who are stalking the thread and can't seem to speak your peace and let it go.
