They are law enforcement officers, duly sworn to uphold the laws of this land, including the ones that might cramp their style.

They didn't.

These are BP, and the guy is a drug smuggler, not a 16-year-old with a dime bag, or some old retired guy with his savings under the mattress.

I don't think there was a problem with these guys shooting the drug dealer who appeared to be holding a gun.
I think the big problem here was that both did not report the shooting at all which you HAVE to do.
This makes it seem they were trying to get the drugs to sell themselves to some people.

The right result would have been to fire both for not reporting the shooting with two years probation and that would be about it.

Had these guys reported the shooting, absolutely none of this would have happened.

That said, this went way to far in a bad direction when they gave a drug dealer a pass and jail for years two cops who's only mistake was NOT reporting the shooting.
The shooting was fine, it was the lack of reporting that was messed up.

Clearly, this wasn't the rogue throw-down-weapon type of crime by these guys. And the madness of the payout being made to the perp adds insult to injury.

I have stated many times that I have zero issues with those who desire to better themselves, and America, by their presence here. It is those who flaunt their criminality and demand a special justice that throw me. I'm tired of victim politics and double standards.
