What could posess a person to take their frustrations out on innocent kids? How many parents have harmed their own children to get back at a spouse.
I really think there are people who are born w/ no souls.

Couple with with a failure to recognize others as human beings, merely props. Add some moral philosophical absurdities: "life is merely a dream, do you even exist, or is all this an illusion" crapola, and you have the recipie for this sort of behavior.
