And how many of us actually carry firearms with us on a daily basis? Nobody I know unless it's hunting season.

Many people carry defensive firearms. It has been estimated legally-owned sidearms are used over 2,000,000 times per year (with rarely a shot fired) by private citizens to prevent crime. Hopefully more and more states will wisely turn either "aqua" or, better yet, "green" in the map below:

I teach in a violent inner city high school. I don't carry a gun at work mainly because I don't feel the need for a gun here and it's against the law and schoolboard policy. Matter settled. However, having said that...every other time I set foot outside my home, I'm armed. No mouseguns, either. Either a 40 or a 45 and at least one spare magazine. I just put a Crimson Trace Lasergrip on my Glock last night. CRIMSON TRACE
We're in a war. What don't you "get" about that? The war has already drawn blood on home soil. It's not just about terrorism, it's a war against evil. It is without a doubt...evil to murder children. I'm a sheepdog. Armed or not, I am not going to just stand by and allow the murder of innocents. Being well armed and trained just makes the outcome more certain and decisive. But the real key to such an epic conflict is mindset. The will to ACT in a crisis and act decisively. Are you willing and able to "act?" If not, stand back and let the sheepdogs thru...oh and give them the tools they need to do the job.
