"...[Wayne] LaPierre, IMO, is a kook if he is making any connection between these events and the fact that they may be tied to any legislation or upcoming election..."
Take a look at this Wayne LaPierre excerpt for a bit more insight on the topic. Do you honestly believe leftist gungrabbers would cease pursuing their statist dreams if shootings immediately stopped? It isn't about firearms, it's about control pure and simple. The despair and overwhelming grief borne from the tragedy of schoolhouse murders are their disgusting stock-in-trade. I'll eat my hat if we don't witness liberal legislators calling for more gun control before this month is finished.

Is everyone aware that a 4th girl has died? That leaves 7 girls in the hospital, most in critical condition. (per FOX)
If you think about it, the Amish are America's "religious extremists". They are in stark contrast to the "submit or die" religious fanatics we are fighting. How many of us feel threatened by the Amish? They practice their religion freely and live the way they feel is right, within the law, and are upstanding citizens in the process. I'm proud of our Amish and have this strong urge to protect them and help them right now.
What happened to them today is so evil. It just cuts to the quick and makes me so very sad for them. May God hold them all close to his heart during this time... :-(
I'm a little bit surprised it hasn't already begun. If the RATS were in decisive control, the confiscations would have already started. But give the antis a teeeeny bit of credit for remembering recent history and the overwhelming reaction to Katrina and the actions taken by local government in response to "events of random violence." Nagin's (well okay it was his Chief of Police) actions resulted in backlash legislation that swept the nation.
THIS is the power of a resurgent NRA! If you'll remember back to the horror days of Bill Clinton, the result of the Oklahoma BOMBING resulted in RATS crys for more gun control legislation. But for the RATS it's always a matter of timing...not decision.
