this is a little off topic. I'm not all that familiar with how Free Republic works. I have posted a bit in the past, but not much.
I noticed the column on my right that says "breaking news", but it appears that some of these links are several days old.
is there a section that shows real "breaking news"?
sorry for the off topic question, but it's been a while and I need a little refresher.

Only a select few threads per day are put in the "Breaking News" section. Think of it like the "Lead Stories" on a newscast. The links are then left up till they get bumped out by new articles.
