No one is ever set up for anything, when its their own words that are being used.....once a poster makes a claim, and that claim is later brought up, its not a set up...someone says something, words have meanings, no set up is involved..
Not my intent--my term "set up" was meant to describe what I inferred from my *mistaken* impression--that of holding all members of a group responsible for any statements by a member of the group, even those they hadn't heard of.
Of course, what you said--holding people responsible for their own words, and perhaps some of their close allies responsible for "keeping an eye out" for them--is entirely reasonable.
My bad, my mistake--and I should have taken pains to make my objections less confusing!
