I don't smoke; I'm a true CONSERVATIVE.

This campaign had nothing to do with the Christianity of supporters or detractors of anyone. Your attempts to imply that either side was Christian or not Christian is offensive to me.

Ah.

I was commenting on the folks that were cheerfully dispensing by rumors about Crist being gay and fathering a child out of wedlock while claiming to be Christians.

Hypocrisy rankles me. Bigtime. That's all.

Religion, in my never-humble opinion, isn't about what one says--it's about what one does.

"I don't smoke; I'm a true CONSERVATIVE."

Do you really think that many conservatives don't smoke? How bizarre. Smoking has nothing to do with political positions. Smoking is an addiction, and folks of all political persuasions are addicted.

You don't smoke. That's good. Please don't start. But don't take this holier-than-thou attitude about it. It's unseemly.

I don't remember Christianity coming into play at all in those discussions. The hypocrisy is expressed in other ways, not in religion.

You take huge risks by attaching Christianity to things you don't like. It's a bad idea. Leave religion out of your arguments. That's my suggestion.

You might reconsider the whole "lighten up" attitude, too. I don't "lighten up" when discussing serious topics, and don't appreciate folks telling me to do so, especially when they've posted offensive messages about religious beliefs.

Not everything is subject to sarcastic humor, you see.

You may think you know me. You do not.

If you run a socialist against a socialist, you'll end up with a socialist. Guess what FL is going to end up with?

Bingo!

That's Adam Putnam, the phenom Republican in Congress. He got elected when he was in his twenties. He could bring us all back together because he's a real conservative and there are no skeletons in his closet and it would be difficult for any 527 orgs to do a negative attack ad against him.

The big sugar attack ad destroyed Rod Smith and Tom Gallagher, the two smartest guys running for governor.

Note that it was illegal for Crist's friend to start a 527 org and to then donate over 1 million dollars to fund the attack ad against Gallagher that was patently false.

Crist's developer friend's name is GLEN EAGLE. His friend sounds like a golf course. No, not goin' there.

The 527 org who smeared Rod Smith and Tom Gallagher under the same banner is what happened to Rod Smith and Tom Gallagher. Jim Davis thanked the 527 in his acceptance speech last night.

We have a thread re: that ad here at free republic about "big sugar". 8mmmauser, can you put the link to big sugar here? It's why the two guys from St. Pete High both won. Can you imagine the two candidates for governor are from the same high school? Isn't that just bizarre?

I guess they didn't teach ethics at that school.

Good point, Howlin.

Not that facts seem to matter to Floriduh Voter. She just makes them up as she goes along. And the Terri Bots who are all too willing to believe every lie she spews out.

You can't assume that Terri would have died in 2003 if Davis would have been governor. Many of the people who were trying to starve her in 2003 in Florida were republicans. They would not have been there to begin with, including Charlie Crist.

What if doesn't help Terri now anyway. She's a martyr and Crist pal Dave Simmons told me she was gonna be one. He was a man of his word. When they say they are pro-life, it's not just a little fib, it's a whopper.

You're reaching out to the RNC by thinking about voting third party? How novel.

Ahhh, so now Crist is a socialist?? Seriously, get some perspective. Crist has been a solid fiscal conservative for as long as he has held public office, and he has never once supported a tax increase. Yes, he supports civil unions and stem cell research. The Florida legislature will never give him the opportunity to pass either of these measure. He is pro life and he opposes gay marriage as well as adoption by homosexuals. He is infinitely more conservative than any other candidate in the general election for governor. Jeb Bush has described him as conservative. He was endorsed by the NRA and every major law enforcement group in the state. He was endorsed by Connie Mack and Speaker Allan Bense, both rock solid social conservatives. While Crist is somewhat more moderate on social issues, to call him a socialist is asinine.

"It was about the rights of her spouse versus the parents,"

Yes, you are correct. It is about her husband's rights. It never really was about her rights.

So now we have you on record indicating that a spouse's rights are more important than the individual's rights, even when the individual is dehydrated to death, the spouse is whose right ought to be preserved.

WRONG.
