The Primary is over the guy won. Now it's time to stop bashing the guy and support him at very least by not hurting him.

I am tired of the RINO designation, one does not have to be a conservative to be a Republican. The term is used to bully people who don't live up to the unrealistic expectations of a few people who call themselves Republicans. They are trying to hijack the party and I will not sit by and allow it.
Furthermore the more someone is called a RINO or a liberal the more inclined I am to support them. They must be doing something right in my estimation. The insistence on ideological purity is reminiscent not only of the modern Democrat Party but also the totalitarian regimes of the past. It is a road to disaster. Fortunately our Party leadership understands this.

Why, because he has an R. after his name?
Voters need to research, research and then show up for the primaries, and vote for conservatives.

Has it ever occurred to you that good Republicans simply don't believe in your vision for the world? Seems to me the Florida GOP has spoken and elected Crist and Harris. That is they way it is. Base your thoughts in reality. Not could have beens or should be's. A circular debate about what you want is clearly pointless at this time. Charlie won, say it with me Charlie won.
It is amazing to me that you think that everyone in Florida is an idiot and did not come to an intelligent decision about whom to vote for. How arrogant is that? Clearly you think you know better then they. This may come as a surprise to you but the world is not black and white. People vote for a particular candidate for a variety of reasons.
Again! Say it with me! Charlie won!

As I understand it, Gallagher is a little late to the "real conservative party," too. Crist was NEVER a Conservative....

You have to be a conservative to get my vote. When faced with a Crist type RINO and Jim Davis who is a Democrat, it gives me a chance to look at the records and actually CONSIDER voting for a 'Rat. That should not happen.
They both want to permit arbitrary killing of children, they both want to increase state spending, they both have socialist plans for insurance/disaster recovery and they both are pandering to immigration. So how does it benefit me as a conservative? My "conservative" GOP leaders work for the election of Bill Nelson over Harris. Screaming she can't win is deplorable. It is even more maddening to me when Bush spouts it too.
It is not totalitarianism, it is party discipline. If you want to be a Republican, there are some non-negotiable issues. A "cut and run" republican would not be tolerated. There are other non-negotiable issues.
Gallagher pandered the conservative line, and it was not believable. We should have had a real conservative there running, but nobody has developed for that role.
I am a Republican, because I am a conservative. I work actively for Republican goals because the candidates match my goals. If Crist comes out more leftist than Davis, then I have to vote my ideology.

Fascinating.
It would seem to me that appeasement is alive and well on FR. Why knock the true conservative for speeding along what RINO and RINO supporters are helping along anyway.
The "You'd better vote Republican or you'll get worse" argument, though accurate in the short run, is the embodiment of Republican failure throughout the party's history.

I guess only certain people are allowed to express discontent with Republicans, like those that constantly bashed Katherine Harris....just depends on who you are.
I have family in Florida who are totally against Crist and then of course many Freepers who are. Sad to see that he won, but he did. However, I know most people will think for themselves and vote accordingly.
I mean, if you are having to bring up a CBS "FreeSpeech" segment to bolster your argument, you are in trouble. CBS!?!?!? Give me a break!
From what I can gather, there is a very real possibility that the Democrat could win this seat in November, I hope that is not the case.
Also, I noticed the "usual suspects" showed up to tell everyone how to think and vote. LOL!

TampaDude, I hope you are wearing asbestos underwear so you can handle the flames coming your way. But I am on your side. Most people here haven't lived with the Shaivo case as local news (like you and I have) since the story started over 11 years ago. And I am also a big fan of the various branches of government NOT going outside of their jurisdictions. It still disturbs me that there are people who advocated a violent clash between different law enforcement agencies. That's why I could never support Gallagher and fully support Crist. I think Christ has done an excellent job as AG, too.
I think it still rubs a lot of people that Judge Greer was re-elected with 80% of the vote in Pinellas Country, even after his opponent, who relentlessly attacked him over Schiavo, and who outspent him by about 10:1. Terri was, as you said, long since gone and her husband carried out her wishes.

"Is he gay?"
There's nothing to suggest that. It was a nasty rumor started by his opponents. Right after that, they started another nasty rumor that he had fathered an illegitimate child.
Now, they're not going to vote for him, helping to make a Democrat the Governor of Florida, a state that has barely gotten President Bush elected. With a Democrat as governor, who knows what will happen in the next election.
But never mind. Crist's opponents hate his guts because they falsely believe that he "murdered" Terri Schiavo.
