Abolish the federal income tax!
No more taxes on savings and investments!
A "Fair Tax" can completely fund the federal government, Social Security and Medicare!
You control how much you spend!
So what are we waiting for?
You, the taxpayers of America burdened with an income tax that is costly, wasteful and sinking America into inevitable bankruptcy. All current forms of federal taxation would end! You would keep 100 percent of your paycheck. You control how you spend your paycheck. It's your money. You make the decisions as to how you want to spend your money.
The Fair Tax would create more jobs and give the USA a level playing field when selling overseas. United States Senator John Linder (R-Georgia) is sponsoring the "Fair Tax Act of 2005." If enacted by Congress, it would accomplish all of the above. Simple. Easy. And affordable.
It's the best way to downsize government without disrupting the economy.
To join the "Fair Tax" movement in America, just sign the "Economic Freedom & Fairness" Petition supporting forward-thinking solutions. Go to www.grassfire.net and liberate the working class of taxpayers. Grassfire is trying to give the working class the same kind of freedom America's founders gave to those who joined the American Revolution in 1776 with the "Declaration of Independence." We won the Revolutionary War, but have lost our country since the 16th Amendment (income tax) became "Law" in 1913.

You don't even offer complete enough information to evaluate it under the income tax, let alone under the FairTax but it is clear that saving enough to buy the "$330K house" which is really a "$404,562 house" is a lot tougher than to buy it under the FairTax when much less than even the $330,000 would need to be earned (without tax) because of the price decrease caused by the removal of the income tax. Even the FairTax opponents have stipulated this would be a 9% savings making the house sell for earnings of $300,300 - NOT $404,561 (or even $330,000).
"But are the drug dealer and prostitute going to pay taxes on the goods and services they sell? See when you provide a $100 service or product to another person, you need to charge an extra $30 and remit it to the government. The illegal activities will still not do this and will cheat the system just as they do today. The fairtax does nothing to capture the underground economy despite their claims."
Strawman, indeed ... and now you fabricate more untruths about even that. Anyone reading your original post (#575) would know who was putting forth the bad information since you clearly claim just the opposite of what you're now trying to pretend.
That is just a strawman.
You must certainly have impeccable credentials as a BS expert!!
Show me the 'bad information' or shut up you lying SOB. All you do is twist and spin and lie. You are so full of it.
LOLAROTF!! You obviously don't know a strawman when you post one even.
I think when he comes up with those examples they are being fed to him by folks at the AFFT. At least that is how it use to work with these folks.
I just did ... see #582.
Name calling is good, though.
You did not show anything in 582. All you did is call the arguement a strawman and then cut and ran like you always do. You lie about everything.
IOW, it's merely one more political propaganda piece by the inside the Beltway crowd.
The other half is going to come from the criminals and tax evaders who aren't paying taxes today. Other than the taxes embedded in everything they buy today. Which is about the same as the Fair Tax.
What he's selling is a "pig(dog) in a poke".
You've got that wrong, too.
And a retail sales tax is sooooooooo much different than the FairTax. The commission just thought the FairyTax numbers were a fairytale and examined what they thought was a realistic plan of raising revenues with a retail tax. For instance, the commission did not buy the fairytax idea that a government could tax itself to raise revenues. Gee, who would have thunk that would not work?
The comparative purchasing power examples could be done a) from valid existing data using simple arithmetic by b)anyone being honest. Both a) & b) seem beyond you.
So they are paying the embedded taxes today which is about the same as the Fair Tax. So just exactly how is the Fair Tax collecting more tax from them?
You just showed that in #402.
The old reference another post to bump the thread trick. Post #402 was his post. Geez, it is ignorant to argue with you. Bye bye.
I thought so too. The drug dealer who doesn't pay any income taxes today would have to pay the Fair Tax when he buys his Lincoln Continental.
But it was pointed out to me that the Lincoln Continental today contains about 22-23% in hidden taxes that are included in the selling price. These hidden taxes consist of employee payroll taxes (FICA) and federal income taxes of the people who assembled the car, employee payroll taxes and federal income taxes of the people who built the things that go into the car (tires, seats, winshield, etc.), the corporate income taxes of all the companies who employ these people, etc.
Under the Fair Tax, all these taxes are no longer paid by the employees and emloyers. They are replaced by the more visible Fair Tax, and is basically a break-even.
The only way to get more money from the drug dealer is if he charges the Fair Tax on the illegal drugs he sells and sends that money to the federal government. Highly unlikely.
