Welcome to the club. I got quoted for a post on FR by one of the San Francisco papers some time ago about a murder. It's a small thrill but hey life goes on. :)

Joining the discussion late but all I'll say is give anyone (that includes you, me and everyone posting on here) a ton of alcohol and they'll do pretty much the same thing.
Mel will always be a top notch dude in my book. After all, he drove the last of the V-8 Interceptors!

I notice you put in the "let his blood . . . " which appears only in one gospel and has been used as a blood libel against Jews for centuries. Very clever of you. The Romans won the wars, and the RC Church became the ROMAN Catholic Church and the official church of the empire. There was more to risk by offending the ROMANS than the Jews. Got it?

Pretty obvious there that Luther contrasted the ignorant village priests with the pope and found both wanting.
There are other Protestant reformers of the same period who condemn the "Jews" for refusing full communion to the people (referring to the "wine"). Yet others ridicule the way the "Jews" undertake the baptism of infants.
In the end, everybody, Reformers, Jews, and dispossessed nobles alike all eventually flee to America and live happily ever after.

No but he should. That would be the best of both worlds! I could get my fill of "man crush" on Mel Gibson but then validate my manliness (sp?) by drooling over CZJ!
To: Generalbob
Jesus asked us not to judge other people.
Not really, unless you count a warning of reciprocity as a prohibition.

There is no evidence that Pilate every showed mercy anybody in his entire life. Likewise, it ws not a CUSTOM to release a prisoner during the Passover. No proof whatsoever. IF you want to drink the kool-aide and believe it, that is your problem.

It was "cultural", not religious. Once an area was freed of Catholicism others took up the task of whipping witches before they were burned.
We are beyond the time when you can get away with blaming our own atrocious behavior on the other guy due to his religion.
Well, maybe not, Democrats do that a lot ~ blame the victims ~ but with the second amendment in place we can keep their nasty whips off our butts.
