Good post.
Hehehe, couldn't agree more, been there, done that. He probably needs therapy - he's probably IN therapy - but he probably needs more therapy. Some education on Judaism and related history wouldn't hurt, either.
Mel Gibson is a Jew hater?
Prove it.
I think you are very astue here. My FIL was a chronic alcoholic who sobered up about 4 yrs before his death. He became a totally different person, actually nice to be around.
Then, he started adding vodka to his morning orange juice, and became the raging a$$hole toxic personality that drove his children away from him in the first place.
Um, if you think Jews are responsible for every war on earth, and assuming you don't like war, it can pretty much be deduced you have a low opinion of Jews...
I'll apologize to the posters who didn't comment as yet, but not to Millee.
I apologize to you, FF, LG and llt. I jumped the gun on you, sorry.
FWIW, the reports of what he said about the Jews came out last night, that's why there is an apology today.
How many people did you post this thread to?
His quotes are pretty damn good proof.
Yeah, if it weren't for that icky PC, the anti-semites would be celebrated instead of condemned. (/sarcasm)

What do you mean?
Can he? Who said that was okay?
but a boozing producer of a monumental work on Jesus gets caught saying the Naughty...? Priceless.
I don't care who you are, if you are famous and you say that crap, you won't be given a pass.
That's okay. I'm sorry I was so harsh.
This just really pisses me off.
Yep. Apparently Oliver Stone has made a decent movie with World Trade Center. And he's pretty much an unreconstructed Stalinist.
Remember, his first words when pulled over was "My life is f***ed". I`ve been there before quite a few times, and when you are in that state, self destruction comes VERY easily.
I mean what is the WORST possible thing he could have said to destroy his career? Well, he went and said it. To me though, right now that is the least of his problems.
Very astute observations. Stay well.
I've always thought there was a bit of that in Pete Rose, too. While he wasn't a drunk (that I know of), what was the one thing that could keep him out of Cooperstown? Gambling on baseball. And he goes and does it.
Some people are just self-destructive. They can be self-destructive over time, or simply self-destructive late one night when pulled over by the cops. They don't feel worthy of the adulation of others, or they don't feel right about their (hidden from the public) flaws. So they go and do so ostentatious asinine thing that is sure to put them back in their place.
I think more of this goes on in the human psyche than we sometimes realize. I don't know what was going on with this actor. Maybe he's evil incarnate, or maybe he's just a flawed human being.
So anti-Jewish statements just "Don't agree with the PC status quo" and otherwise are okay.
Gotcha.
This thread has been very enlightening about some of the denizens of FR.
Here I am.
I didn't want to believe it.
:-) I'm waiting for all the proof. Most of the reports of the incident are coming from the report on this one web site.
We can hope it's not as bad as it sounds until we have proof otherwise.
That's not your original assertion. You claimed they weren't criticized.
Own up, and admit you were wrong.
