From a CBS poll:

"Majority Reject Evolution"
Most Americans do not accept the theory of evolution. Instead, 51 percent of Americans say God created humans in their present form, and another three in 10 say that while humans evolved, God guided the process. Just 15 percent say humans evolved, and that God was not involved.
SaveUS, 2nsdammit, Junior; you lost big time on this one, your the "GOOBERS!" LOL !!!
Science isn't a popularity contest. It is sad that you think it is.
51 percent of Americans say God created humans in their present form,"
Strangly enough, 51 percent is really close to the percentage of people who vote Democrat. I would bet 51% or better is the number of people who think we shouldn't pay taxes. And since the average IQ of the populus resides around 80, I am not so sure this is something that is votable. And I stand by the statement that MOST educated people think that Creo's are Goober's. Because at the end of the day, physical evidence trumps faith. Sad but true.
Hmmm. From the same Web site:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn9392-ancient-beads-imply-culture-older-than-we-thought.html
"The finding is more evidence that modern human behaviour developed gradually in Africa following the appearance of anatomically modern humans around 200,000 years ago.
Modern Human behavior developed gradually in Africa. 200,000 YEARS AGO!!! I thought God ZAPPED all of it 6000 years ago? After all, it was your website reference. Thanks for the confirming link!
Another poll for you:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/ev_publi.htm
Total creationists: 47%
Notice the breakout among educated vs. uneducated.
Total college grads who are creationists: 25%
Overall findings are that those who are educated and higher paid tend far less to believe in creationism. Also, the phenomenon seems to be based in uneducated, low paid Americans, sadly...
I can perhaps attribute this to the "sorry state of public schools" in America I keep hearing about?
