I would have to say, that 1) I think he must figure he's too good to be bothered with the idols, since he didn't want to show up earlier in the year, but did show up for the finale, which he did NOT perform with any of the idols. 2) To be able to perform the way he did, showing up minutes before, is pretty impressive.
Yea a little impressive, but still he made me ill. I used to love Prince in my younger years, but he was always a bit bizarre. And arrogant.
That would seem to make sense. Ryan had just announced that there were not going to be any more surprise guests singing, and launched into the results segment. Then all of a sudden Prince's enttourage apppeared on the screen.
Couldn't tell if that was scripted or not, but seemed very last minute.
