Taylor's segment was too short though I liked the story about why he sang "Country Roads (IMO his only bad performance of the entire season)....he comes across as such a gentleman! Such a Southern gentleman!

actually, I don't think the performance was bad, just heh. Not exciting as usual. Yes his segment was too short. Mariah's should have been shorter. I cannot believe she bought her dog a diamond collar!! I know it's her money to spend but wow what a waste.

As Lee Ann Womack sings about Kat...
I heard he was gonna marry some girl from Denver
Then my sister came over, had the Sunday paper with her
There was the girl on the social page
Lookin' in love and all engaged
We decided she don't take a very good picture
It may be my family's redneck nature
Rubbin' off, bringin' out unlady-like behavior
It sure ain't Christian to judge a stranger
But I don't like her
She may be a stranger who spends all winter
Bringin' the homeless blankets and dinner
A regular Nobel Peace Prize winner
But I really hate her
I'll think of a reason later

OK FOLKS, EITHER YOU WILL TAKE OUT YOUR HANKIES AND TISSUES OR THE CYNICS AMOMG YOU WILL JUST SNEER, BUT HERE's THE STORY FOR WHAT ITS WORTH ...
'Idol's' Kellie: A pop (but not mom) fan
Kellie Pickler
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
May 30,2006
Kellie Pickler showed some class toward her jailbird father recently but the "American Idol" vet is not as easy on her mother, who dumped her at age 2.
The trailer teen reunited with right-out-of-central-casting dad, Clyde (Bo) Pickler, after his release from a four-year jail sentence on stabbing and robbery charges.
"It was a very, very sweet moment," Pickler said in Chaunce Hayden's current Steppin' Out magazine. "When I first saw him, we just walked up to each other very slowly. It didn't seem real. I felt like we had to touch each other to make sure it wasn't a dream. He picked me up and hugged me. It was the longest hug of my life. He just said, 'I love you baby, I'm so sorry!' And 'I'm so glad you're here!' I had no idea what to say. I just said, 'I love you too, and I missed you.' It was just so sweet. Neither of us knew what to say.
"He just kept apologizing to me. But I said, 'Dad, don't apologize anymore, because I've prayed about it, I've forgiven you and it's forgotten. This is our future now. We're going to leave the past in the past.' "
But the Southern blond, who will go on tour this summer with other "American Idol" finalists, understandably can't forgive her mother.
"I just keep wondering if she watched the show," Pickler said through tears. "I wonder if she knows. She must know. You can't turn on the TV without seeing something about 'American Idol' or pick up a magazine.
So it's made me wonder if she ever picked up the phone and voted for me. How weird would that be? I don't know if I've even bumped into her at the grocery store.
"I just don't know if I'll be able to accept her back into my life, because we were never close in the first place," the singer went on. "She just walked out on me. I wouldn't even know what I would say to her. She hurt me a lot. I didn't even think about my mom until I picked up a copy of Star magazine and saw her in there. I just cried."
With good reason.
To: Netizen
As for the final results show, keep bringing back the rest of the Top 12, but have only one group song. There's a reason they were voted off -- America didn't want to hear from them anymore. The only reason I watched the full results show was because I knew Chris Daughtry would sing again there. You lose a lot of viewers if you don't give airtime to most all of them-- and you are trying to pimp the concert, which relies upon support by Daughtry and Ace and Pickler fans.
The rest of the shtick can be compressed. One Kelly Pickler-Wolfgang Puck interlude was barely tolerable, two were unforgivable.
This writer is just out of touch and has some hatred toward Kellie (she mispelled her name, also). Those segments were very funny.

Simon doesn't like Taylor, his style or otherwise. Tell me, why do you think it took until Taylor wsas declared the winner last Wednesday before Simon would even lower himself to shake Taylor's hand?
Simon could have shook it so many times but HE DIDN'T! Simon was very grim faced after it was announced that Taylor won and didn't even clap his hands for awhile. Why is that so hard for you to understand?
To: Netizen
In fairness, Simon did praise Taylor's voice on several occasions. He also acknowledged after the initial Levon performance that he was wrong about him not being a finalist. I think Simon knew Tay-Tay was a favorite all along but was playing mind games to try and bring him down from the top. The alternate view is Simon was trying to keep Taylor fired up, which actually was the way Taylor (to his credit) took it - as a challenge.
BTW - just watched Taylor on Regis - he comes across very well, humble but in control. He sang the schmaltzy pop ditty very well, the best I've heard it thus far. That song is going to be a big hit!

Wasn't that the week they wouldn't let him do "Try a Little Tenderness"? I remember one week where he almost looked defeated. Like he believed they were not going to LET him win.

In fairness, Simon did praise Taylor's voice on several occasions. BUT, he would do so with backhanded praise. For instance. 'You're interesting. You're like somebody's father up there' (slap)
The few times Simon said something decent without insulting him, was when Taylor stood in one spot and sang. He didn't like him moving around. When he did move around then simon called him drunk. 3 weeks in a row IIRC.
He also acknowledged after the initial Levon performance that he was wrong about him not being a finalist.
Because Taylor had obviously already made the top 24 cut.
Simon admitted that they got the most mail about Taylor. The way he said it showed that he didn't 'get it'. He still doesn't.
When Taylor decided to just do his things and forget about Simon, I think Simon realized he may as well go along for the ride, because the audience liked Taylor and Simon was starting to look like an idiot.

I love my dog. But if anybody's getting a diamond necklace it's gonna be me. He'd just eat them anyway. :)

Remember the week that he did 'Something'. Simon got sarcastic with him there on camera saying how he didn't know how Taylor managed to pull off singing a 39 year old song during recent hots week. This just shows more of how Simon disliked Taylor and was tyring any way he could to belittle Taylor in public.
Taylor followed the rules and found a new release album that had that song on it.
To: Netizen
I really disliked the way Simon sat in his seat while everyone else was on their feet applauding. Made him look like a arrogant pouting little fool.
