Mexico votes to decriminalize drug possession 04:02 PM CDT on Saturday, April 29, 2006

Associated Press

MEXICO CITY – Mexicans would be allowed to possess small amounts of cocaine, heroin, even ecstasy for their personal use under a bill approved by lawmakers that some worry could prove to be a lure to young Americans.

...

However the bill stiffens penalties for trafficking and possession of drugs – even small quantities – by government employees or near schools, and maintains criminal penalties for drug sales.

Standing up for liberty sometimes means just saying no to the alcohol and tobacco lobby, who whole-heartedly supports marijuana criminalization, too. Otherwise it would just be lefties supporting drug criminalization. Like tobacco in California.

Tell me an argument for criminalization that doesn't apply to fast-food or junk-food also!

Getting on the right side of this issue could bring a lot of misguided folks over from the left, who should know better.

Enjoy!

Lots of lying coming from Mexico on this issue. They claim it will help them fight the big dealers. Unfortunately, they already help the big dealers sneak it across the border.

The only thing that needs justifying is the _removal_ of liberty.

(In mexican bandito voice)
Liberty don't need no stinking justification.

Still? That's like asking:
"Still beating your wife?"
No, we should have a full on marijuana trade embargo.
