It's really not that hard. The second sentence of the first governing document produced by our founders states "For the Advancement of the Christian Faith". The glaring flaws we surely both would agree are in this document, do not inter into this question and answer.
I'm sorry, but the Pilgrims are not my founders. My founders wrote the Constitution, and incorporated lessons learned from mistakes like the Mayflower Compact.
