Well, there really isn't that much difference in our point of view, except that you choose such volatile rhetoric. You are probably right that the cost would be less. However, acting like you don't care about the welfare of the chidren is a losing issue politically. The liberals already have the talking points printed where they accuse the Republicans of creating millions of immigration orphans, splitting families and causing undue hardship. The TV networks will have daily tear-jerk stories about families being split up...with beautiful children with big sad eyes staring into the cameras.

I honestly think that we need to think about ALL the complications of each aspect of this issue, and play this smart. Despite the rightness of one's cause, one can lose on the PR front and thus lose the battle.

Doing the wrong thing in an attempt to avoid a liberal talking point or appease the unappeasable media is never the right answer.

This is a point that I wish more could understand. This is an issue that could put us back in the minority for another 20 years. We do not need to generate the same kind of irrational disdain for Republicans among Latinos like that among Blacks. Bush wont let it happen during his term, but after that, who knows. If it does, we will deserve what we get. I just hope Bush has another chance to put someone on the Supreme Court, before the less rational among us toss our majority out the window.

Oh, spare me. President Bush called me a "vigilante" last year and "anti-immigrant" this morning. Hundreds of thousands of criminal invaders threw a big temper tantrum in our streets demanding the dissolution of our laws, the erasure of our borders, and the surrender of our southwest states. PR front, my ass. Either you're for the enforcement of our laws, the protection of our national security, and the sovereignty of our borders or you side with the invaders pictured below:

And you support the thugs who beat up this Minuteman Project volunteer in Indiana:

When you're ready to stop promoting the appeasement of those engaging in slow motion terrorism, let me know.
