Do you want to be right, or do you want to win?

It is that simple.

Do you want to be right, or do you want to win?

So, it doesn't matter to you, as long as they have an 'R' next to their name, you vote for them?

It's all about winning is basically saying you are political party animal, not someone who cares about issues or principles.

"Whether you like it or not, much of the commerce of this country does depend on these folks to do jobs that Americans won’t do for the prevailing wage."

You do realize that their presence here, in such numbers, suppresses the prevailing wage, don't you?

" ....consider everything you will lose if we turn off 10-15% of the electorate"

The majority of the electorate supports a far tougher immigration policy than we currently have, so it follows that the tougher the President's position on the issue the greater the chances the GOP maintains/increases its congressional majority. If anything, the President vetoing a bill that makes illegal residency a felony would put the nail in the GOP's coffin for the midterms.

The sentiments of most legal citizens of Mexican heritage (who didn't break the law to get here) are as anti-illegal immigration as many on this forum, so there would be no worries about losing Latino voters after passing such a bill.

You are 100% wrong. America is dying as a nation. We are losing our culture! Most of these illegals didn't come here to work, they came here to work the system. Bush and Congress, (mostly Senators) are responsible. We have been sold out. They don't work for "We the People" any more, they work for big corporations.

If you or anyone else wants to sell their soul to the Devil, you go right ahead, because ANYONE who would aid and abet CRIMINALS is as guilty of the CRIME as the actual person who commits the CRIME, according to the Penal Code!! That includes Bush, Congress and those of you who are supporting the CRIME OF ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Do you understand who you're standing with? The side of CRIMINALS!! ANYONE who aids and abets them is a CRIMINAL too. THAT, FRiend is the LAW! Unless, of course, you're a Politician, because then you can just rewrite the law to suit your own desires/needs/benefits.

You are ignoring the big picture here. IF "We the People" let this government get away with another amnesty then you better KNOW that they will run right over the top of us for EVERYTHING else they want to do. Right now the First Amendment is under attack by none other than the man you say we should capitulate to support, John McCain. He will be the GOP candidate for President The Second Amendment is in danger under McCain too, because he's anti gun.

So, to answer your question about winning or being right, I have to tell you that if winning means to compromise every value and belief that I've ever had just to be right, then I don't want to win. IF winning means that we would spit on the grave of every man and woman who ever lost their lives protecting our FREEDOM, or every person who fought to preserve that FREEDOM, then HELL NO, I don't want to win. I KNOW how to fight the RATS, because I KNOW they are EVIL but, so help me God, I CANNOT tell the difference when I look at Bush, McCain and the other RINOS!! THEY are just as EVIL. WINNING THROUGH CAPITULATING IS NO WIN AT ALL. I have more SELF RESPECT than that. I'm sorry you don't.

Best d*mn thinking on this I've seen so far.

That is a problem with us pubs - we tend to act like a dog with a bone.

Sometimes we need to remember that the mighty oak is the tree that can still be standing after the storm BECAUSE it was smart enough to bend a little.

So, folks, you want 3/4's of the pie - or demand all and lose all?

(hey, Pukin, you should copy paste this into every post on the issue - paste it over and over)

"Bush will likely veto any bill making illegal immigration a felony, if that bill does not include the migrant worker program (call it amnesty if you want) needed to hold onto Business and Hispanic support for the Republican Party."

It's the last straw for a party and a president who had the chance to truly make a difference for the future of America.

Instead, the bush legacy will be one of a sell out to the globalist profiteers who will gleefully continue their looting of the US economy.

Do you want to be right, or do you want to win?

Right.

There is no alternative.

Amnesty will NOT save the Republican Party. The new voters are Democrats, all of them, and will vote to recreate the Mexico they have left, thinking they are voting for what the politicos in Mexico told them they want to do and electing the people who will do what the politicos in Mexico actually do. This is a tremendous advance for socialism. The migrants come here to work in the free American system for all they cannot attain south of the border but will vote to destroy that system thinking they are simply voting to make the government take care of them. All the years of hard work and slow progres by conservatives/Christians/Reagan Democrats/etc. is being defeated in one action by politicians who are creating an instant unbeatable voting bloc, a new majority inimical to the very idea of America. Stroke of the pen-law of the land and all that.

. Only after a migrant worker program passes, making most of these illegal aliens legal, is there any chance at all to have meaningful border enforcement.

WRONG! Amnesty removes the perceived problem for a time and the border protection will be discontinued because officially the problem will havve been solved. When the new floods coming to the lure of amnesty have bankruptes several states and set up large no-go enclaves in large cities, the "debate" will begin anew until the government is "forced" to grant another amnesty, this time, perhaps, accompanied by conversion of large urban areas into Autonomous Republics in which the US and State governments have no authority. That is the rosy view. Without giving them land and tax money they are the majority(when added to the diehard moonbat vote)and will vote Aztlanistan for the whole country.

I am just glad to see that you acknowledge that there are enough of us to cost the Republicans the elections. We may lose, but so will others.

We can not lay this at the feet of the executive office, any more than we could lay it all on the legislative.
"There are 317 official ports of entry in the United States and 14 preclearance offices in Canada and the Caribbean."
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/ports/
"There are 70 Deferred Inspections Sites throughout the United States and the outlying territories where incoming aliens are referred when documentation requires additional review and/or possible correction."
http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/deferred_inspection/
ICE is too busy with headshop operations to fool with illegal aliens: "Water pipes, onyx, metal pipes and other drug paraphernalia were among 5,500 items seized by ICE special agents serving several federal search and seizure warrants at several South Florida head shops. Many of the items seized were disguised as everyday items such as highlighters, pagers and women’s lipstick."
http://www.ice.gov/graphics/index.htm

Not to worry, USCIS has a diversity program: "The term “diversity LPRs” refers to LPR principals
and their dependents whose legal permanent resident
status is based on selection from a diversity lottery.
Nearly all diversity LPRs are new arrivals and the
remainder have adjusted their status after living in the
United States (see Figure 1). The Diversity Immigrant
Visa Program was established under the Immigration
Act of 1990, enacted in 1994, and made 55,000
immigrant visas available each year to nationals from
countries with fewer than 50,000 LPR admissions during
the preceding five years (this limit includes familypreference
and employment-based LPRs and immediate
relatives of U.S. citizens). Since 1999, 5,000 of
those visas have been allocated for use if needed
under NACARA (Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central
American Relief Act), making the current diversity limit
50,000 plus unused NACARA visas. In addition, countries
are divided into six geographic regions, where
regions with lower rates of migration to the United
States receive more visas."

Solid research reveals that politicians and government functionaries are lying to the American public. PD, see Jims survey. 60% of the base wants to be right AND win.
