HORN LAKE, Miss. An unidentified elderly Horn Lake couple were hospitalized Thursday after police burst into their home thinking it housed a methamphetamine laboratory.
The incident occurred Wednesday about 4 a.m., said police Capt. Shannon Beshears. Beshears said it was the right address but the wrong house.
Beshears said a heavily armed Tactical Apprehension Containment Team stormed the house.
"We had good information from a reliable source that had been backed up by a purchase of narcotics linked to the address. However, when we arrived at the designated address, there were two houses on the lot. We hit the larger of the two houses.
"It was the wrong house," Beshears said. "The house was totally dark and the TACT members went through to the bedroom looking for the suspects."
A man and a woman both in their 80s were injured as TACT team members secured the house although no drugs were found. There were children in the house also, but they were not awakened, Beshears said.

Thank You! It's sad to me that if you're viewed as "Pro-Cop", and I very much am, that even on a conservative board you are ridiculed. I rank Police officers on the same level as soldiers and firefighters. People who routinely risk their lives to keep me safe. I live in a state that has imposed on honest citizens in order to stem the tide of the devastation that Meth causes. While I may not agree with all the new laws, I KNOW that for most addicts meth equals death, and unfortunately it's not always just their own.

"Legalize and regulate, and home labs will be as rare as moonshine stills."Seems to me that simply regulating the amount of pseudoephedrine that users could buy had the same net effect. We didn't have to "legalize and regulate" methamphetamine to make those labs as rare as moonshine stills, did we?

Not to me; I certainly still hear much more about home labs than about stills.

"Not to me; I certainly still hear much more about home labs than about stills."Ah. You see a connection between how much you hear and the existence of same. Sounds scientific. Go with it.

How much I hear is more evidence than you've put on the table ... and YOU'RE the one making the claim.

it's not exactly clear which is the right building to raid, what is the usual procedure? You just arbitrarily pick one. You absolutely cannot let all that preparation go to waste. Your guys have been keyed up with expections and have to be given some bodies to bash. Otherwise they will experience psychological letdowns and depression.Their union will not like that.
