HORN LAKE, Miss. — An unidentified elderly Horn Lake couple were hospitalized Thursday after police burst into their home thinking it housed a methamphetamine laboratory.
The incident occurred Wednesday about 4 a.m., said police Capt. Shannon Beshears. Beshears said it was the right address but the wrong house.
Beshears said a heavily armed Tactical Apprehension Containment Team stormed the house.
"We had good information from a reliable source that had been backed up by a purchase of narcotics linked to the address. However, when we arrived at the designated address, there were two houses on the lot. We hit the larger of the two houses.
"It was the wrong house," Beshears said. "The house was totally dark and the TACT members went through to the bedroom looking for the suspects."
A man and a woman — both in their 80s — were injured as TACT team members secured the house although no drugs were found. There were children in the house also, but they were not awakened, Beshears said.

The rule has been Know Your Target from Day One.
There is something about when Americas Finest blowing the door off an innocent persons home that just gets in my craw and won't leave. It probably has something to do with the 4th Amendment. You know the kind of thing we fought for when we wore greens.
So swallow your goddam pride and admit that the cops screwed the pigeon. Yes, stand up and admit that it is every officers job to Know Your Target from Day One.
And there it is. Only a thug with a badge would even consider that action.

Never mind they beat up an 80 year old couple. Never mind they have time to talk to some informant, get a warrant, organize a team and plan out the entry.
But mostly, never mind that no one even has enough sense to check to see who actually lives in the house! Hell no, just take the informants tip as gospel. What? There's two houses? Hmmmm.

Where did it begin that the police force get militarized?
The military is for killing people. Period.
Police are to bring in people for trial. Period.
The SWAT teams are a bunch of sterioded out junkies looking for an excuse to abuse people under color of authority. They have no business in a police force.
When the military is needed, the National Guard can be called in.
Society is getting sicker and sicker every day.
Give some hyped-up cops some fancy toys and they can't wait to use them on someone...anyone! Even innocent 80 year old people.

When the house was ransacked, doors smashed in, people hogtied and in pure fear for their lives, and no contraband was found,,, They said "Oops"!
Or was it "Nevermind"?

And they all went home as fast as they got there, or faster.
I don't get it.

Well, the important thing is that the heavily armored and heavily armed SWAT team, with stun grenades and the element of surprise on their side, not to mention their overwhelming numbers, gets home safe and sound.
And to hell with everyone else, innocent or guilty.
