People kid me because I predicted (Monday quaterbaking according to them), Miers would "sted down" somehow, when I realized the horrendous mistke Bush had made in chosing the "best candidate" for the supreme court.

Again my friends, How exactly I do not know... but this issue is almost as hot as the Miers nomination... Shawn is saying it right, this would give the Dems a "card," an Ace I might add, to get them into the game of "National Security." Claiming Bush does not know what the F*** he is doing. Could the president be THAT Stupid?... I hope not.

So I predict again, this sale will not go through!.. and if Bush does not move quickly... He will pay the price like with Miers and Katrina.

God knows he is already letting down many Republicans on the securing of the border and Immigration..

Why does Bush always do this? He does things like proclaim Harriet Miers will go forward, and then a week later, nothing has changed but he changes direction.

How do you know that in fact that isn't the case here? If an override is guaranteed going in, Bush gives the Congressional GOP incumbency a chance to go back to the districts and say, "I'm my own man, I voted against the President on this major issue." Then Bush himself tells the Emirates that he went to the bitter limit for them, and thus they must make good to join a coalition supporting a pre-emptive strike on Iran. Then Halliburton gets the port contract after the elections.

The "republicans" who support this are the same ones who supported Harriet Miers, the prescription drug plan, Bush's proposed amnesty and selling a major U.S. oil reserve to China (luckily that was stopped.)

What we're seeing here with his stubborn public statement about the Dubai Ports World deal, are some of the first signs of the Bush fatigue factor beginning to appear. It happens in every second term. Happened to Eisenhower, Reagan and Slick. Usually starts sometime in the last two years. Seems to starting a bit early with Bush43. Talk about being stuck on stupid!
